Freebie Friday with Fayette Designs

Welcome to Freebie Friday with The Cherry On Top.

I've got a new designer in the spot light.  Well, she's not new, but it's the first time I was able to work with her fabulous collections.  I'm a Creative Team Member at The CT Hot Spot.  We've got a sweet supply of designers over there and we are free to work with any or all of the collections that they are promoting. Feel free to join our forum and post your lovelies in the gallery there.

The CT Hot Spot  staff has been in the digital scrapbooking business for years.  The added up experience can be seen through quality work with marketing.  If you are a designer who'd like someone else to take care of the business/marketing side of your digital scrap, then you should give them a try.

Let's get back to some sweet inspiration from Fayette Designs and The Cherry.

Free To Be is an absolutely gorgeous collection.  Believe it or not, there is an underlying fourth of July theme that I completely ignored for both of my layouts.  Making this collection just super for anyone.  Including those living outside of the U.S.

Click on any preview to see the collections available at Pickleberry Pop.

Free 2 Be from Fayette Designs

I found this collection fabulously sassy.  So, I scrapped up my niece and her friends.  Above, I used a great template from Lissy Kay Designs, A Reel Mess.  I love adding embellishments to doodles.  It takes that flatness out and adds a splash of colour.

How creative are these girls?  Putting my nieces hair in the shape of multiple hearts.  So cute!  Such an interesting colour palette.  Various shades of blue, a bright pop of red and that lovely contrasting black to make it all stand out.

Free 2 Be from Fayette Designs

Sunshine on my Shoulder is another pretty collection from Fayette Designs.  If I absolutely had to choose, this would be THE collection to have in your stash.  Just observe the next two layouts and take note of all of the fabulous elements in this kit.  The colour palette is just magical.

 Sunshine On My Shoulder

The birds, this whimsical lady on her bike and once again, a black injection to grab your attention are just some of the fabulousness in this stunning collection.

I used friend's of mine vacation photos to scrap these up.

 Sunshine On My Shoulder

Here is the last collection I worked with, Beach Therapy.  Once again, more awesomeness than you can shake a stick at.  I used Lissy Kay Designs, Feeling Wavy templates for both of them.  This way I get a good solid, coordinating look for a double layout that'll look fantastic in an album and of course digital templates are super for when your mojo is lacking and you want to save time.

I used our own Spain vacation for these layouts.  The camera alluding JJ and some great shots of the nearby scenery in Calpe, Spain.  I am just loving these cute under water critters.  There are some journal cards in the collection I really wanted to use and plan on designing a hybrid mini with them, so stay tuned.

 Beach Therapy from Fayette Designs

These colours are the epitome of the beach and will make your layouts just as great as your trip.  I've stated several times, that collections are one of the best ways to get awesome layouts.  If you're not a pro at grabbing various elements and papers from different kits and matching them just right, this is the way to go.  Your scrapping will go so much smoother and faster when you buy collections.

 Beach Therapy from Fayette Designs

I like to thank the readers with a little goody and I really love today's freebie.  You could use it as I did as a border across the top of the layout.  You could add some large, coordinating word art and put it in the middle of your page, too.  Place a photo behind it and put it at an angle.  The choice is yours.  Remember it is for Personal Use only.  Click on the image to download.

Free Summer Bucket List Printables From The Cherry On Top and Paty Greif Digital Designer

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We've got a real treat for you, today!  Paty Greif has a totally awesome, new collection available at Pickleberry Pop and you are just going to love it. She's got a ton of goodies in there to make scrap super easy and fast, too.  I scrapped and I scrapped and I scrapped some more.  Though, not only for fun summer beach photos, it sure is perfect for them.  Scroll through all of my inspiration, take a look at some great templates from Lissy Kay Designs, check out our fantastic, fun, free printables and get some links to keep those kids busy this summer.  Don't forget, a kid with something to do is usually a behaved one.  Arm yourself!  Hehehe...

 Waves Story Grid Templates

Check me out with another double layout.  I'm thrilled my husband took so many photos to our beach visit.  We don't go to the beach that much because it's usually windy and cold.   As you can tell from the colour of my son's lips, this time was also cold, but they couldn't resist.

How cool are these templates?  They are from Lissy Kay Designs and they are called Story Grid, Waves templates.  Check out the different ways I used them.  In the first layout, I used a different paper or cropped up journal card in each box.  While in the second one I used just one paper, the cloudy paper.

My word art was a snap because it's already included in Paty's kit.  I just add a couple of extra elements here and there for some more flair.  I also add extras to banners at times.  Using blue papers for the waves gives an even more liquid effect to the layouts as well as an excellent backdrop to my word art, because the papers are fairly plain, my word art stands out more.

 Waves Story Grid templates

Here, I've designed a template in a bit of Project Life style.  These are older pictures from Spain.  The pictures will let you know just how much fun the boys had there.  There was an enormous puddle after a down pour (I know, right!  The crap weather even followed us to Spain!  hehehe...) and the kids loved running through it full speed even though it was in the middle of the board walk.  The people did NOT get upset.  They loved watching these two little blond boys, laughing so hard while playing in the puddle.  It was absolutely heart warming to be around people like this.

I love creating a scene and I did exactly that in this layout.  Check out my hot chickie.  I added the flower to her hat and added a tiny lighthouse to give a sense of dimension.  Fun, eh?

I used the same paper for most of the square and decided to merge the four photo spots in the centre and use just one photo there, but you can use several different ones if you choose.  Does that mean?  Yes!  It means I'm also giving you a free template.  Scroll to the bottom to see more free printables and get the link for the template by clicking on the image.

Is this happy or is this happy?  I love this picture so much, despite it isn't very clear.  I created another scene across the bottom, added some more of Paty's fun word art and clustered up some sun since there is none in the photo.  Hehehe...

 Summer's Blush

And now, for the other part I've been dying to show you.  I've designed two different Summer Bucket Lists for you.  One is for younger kids and the other is for teens.  You may want to mix and mingle if you like, but definitely download both and print so you're equipped with ideas to keep all of the kids busy.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that the one for kids could also be considered Autism friendly.  I kept my children's Autism in mind when I created this list.  I also used the font Open Dyslexic.  It is a font geared towards people with dyslexia.  It allows an easier read due to the emphasis on the parts of letters that make them more difficult to read.  I use this font any time I print out stuff for my boys.  It encourages reading and makes it easier.  Click here if you'd like to get the FREE download for Open Dyslexic.

To make it even easier on you.  Every craft you find on both lists are in our "For The Kids" board on Pinterest.  Just go over there and go through our dozens of ideas.  If you don't like something here you may find a lot more there, that you do like.

You can either right click and download the printable of your choice or you can click here and get both in one link.

I've been using a new server for my links and I know some people are having difficulty with Chrome or Firefox.  One scrappy sister said she just kept trying and it finally worked.  Another changed her browser.  Please, let me know if you can't get the download after trying several times and I may consider a new method.

All of our goodies are for Personal Use ONLY. Please share around our blog link, give us a like + and or join us in our lovely group on Facebook.

Thank you so much for hanging with The Cherries!

Hybrid Saturday with LissyKay Designs and a Free, Printable Card

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's hybrid Saturday.

I've got a bit of a special blog, today.  I'm showing off some awesome templates from lissykay designs along with some fabulous digital designs from your favourite designers.  I've got a bit of a tutorial on changing up your templates to customise your needs.  I've got an alternative idea on how to use digital templates and I have a free printable card for you, too.

How sweet is this layout?  My boys devouring ice cream cake for JJ's birthday.  This Banana Split  kit from Kim Cameron is totally awesome!  I'll be using it again and again, for sure.  There are so, so many great ice cream related embellishments and of course some standard staples as well.

A template like this one from lisskay designs, is a fantastic way to show off multiple papers and layer, layer, layer.  Layers add depth and dimension to your pages either traditionally scrapped or digitally.  If you feel like your layout looks flat, consider layers and if you're doing it digital style, then add some shadows for even more depth.

This template is actually FREE.  Click on the image below to find out how to get it.

Here is another really fun template from lissykay designs.  I teamed it up with Colour Your World from LouCee Creations.  Another favourite kit of mine.  So bright, bold and whimsy fun.  It speaks to me.  Hehehe...

That's my cutie, Liam.  Both of my boys really love colouring, drawing and creating.

Here is a glimpse of the templates in the set.  Absolutely terrific, right?!

 templates

This template is part of store wide collaboration at GoDigitalScrapbooking.  I used it to scrap up yet another birthday.  This time for Liam.  He asked for a strawberry pie and my husband baked it for him.  How dreamy, eh?  Liam was very pleased and oma and opa dove right in.

This is what the template looks like.  If you love it, like I do, click on the preview to get it.

Here is a look at another free template from lissykay.  I know, right?!

I want to show you how I changed it up and turned it into a printable card for my mom's birthday.  Take a good look at the above, original image of the template.  Notice the changes?  I got rid of the small squares at the bottom, the four dashes and the dotted frame.  I also didn't put tiny clusters on either side and I changed the location of the title.  I then, slightly enlarged the layers and centered them.

One other change was leaving off the white grid shape.  I wanted these neat ribbons to be a focal point and give my layout a soft, textured feel.  I also expanded the corner cluster to reach nearly the entire length and width of the frame for added drama.

That's me and my mom and thought it would be fitting for her card.

I always like to make my printables as versatile as possible so more people can enjoy them.  I'm sure you know the perfect recipient for this card.  Right click to download and make sure you adjust it so that it is the perfect size you need.

Here are a few suggestions.  I used an international size format, changed the image direction and placed it all of the way to the right.  I recommend printing on either glossy or rigid paper to give your card some stability.  If you use this format, print fold and cut and you'll have a standard card.  This one is 5x5.

You could also print it like this and your card will open at the bottom rather than the side.  The choice is yours.

I hope you enjoyed today's printable and all of this inspiration.  We've got more templates, inspiration, hybrids, printables and a ton of free stuff throughout the blog.  Grab a cup'a jo and scroll through.

If you really like what you see, consider joining our Facebook Group where scrappy sisters show off their digital AND traditional scraps and projects.  I offer all kinds of exclusive freebies and promotions there as well as tips, tricks and tutorials to improve your craft.  I'd love to have you join us.

Free Fall Word Art

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Freebie Friday has arrived along with some sweet inspiration and quite possibly, one of my all time favourite kits from The Kit Cart Designs, Blustery Days. You can find it in my favourite shop, the Digital Scrapbooking Studio AND it's on SALE!!! Let's dig in to all of this fall festivity!

Cool template, eh?  It's LissyKay Designs template and I used a series of photos from a family trip to Cochem, Germany quite a few years back.  Such great times and a fantastic place to visit, too.

Here's a good look at the kit.  Isn't it just fabulous?!  That truck, those pumpkins and the cutest woodland creatures, as well.  Eek!  Take a look at the entire collection by clicking on the preview below.

I thought the alpha from this kit was pretty awesome and knew it would make  great word art.  What do you think?

Here are a few ideas for what you can do with the freebie.

Keep it uber simple by placing a background, one of Jamie's gorgeous mats found in the collection and your word art.  POW!  Scrapped in minutes! Frame it or use it as a cover or in between page.

 tkc at the Studio

If you have a couple more minutes to spare you can scrap a layout like this one.  Grab your most awesome fall photo bomb, put the word art in a corner of that blown up shot and border it up top and bottom with lovely papers, ribbons, ric rac and consider a tiny cluster.  Voila!  Scrapped in no time at all.
