Day 2, Sleigh Bells Ring Freebie

This is the perfect opportunity to show off some of our layouts using Christmas themed kits from our favourite designers.

Starting off with Boomersgirl Designs, Fantastical Christmas.  What a great theme in this one!  So much fun, bright colours and super Seuss inspired elements.

All of the images are hooked up to Lori's shop where you can see other layouts and a get a better look at this great kit.

We'll tone it down a bit and throw in some vintage flair with Over The Fence's, Glitter and Glass.  I was totally digging this colour palette.  Escaping the traditional colours was a nice break.  How refreshing?

What fun to scrap these older pictures.  Especially, when some of these family members no longer attend our parties.  It makes it all the more special.

Holiday Show Offs and a Free Template

 Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Perhaps you are peeking at this blog intermittently with the turkey?  Hehehe...  We are here to wish you a happy holiday if you are celebrating and if you are not, (me either) you can still receive fun gifts, inspiration and get a giggle.

The sales have already started and us Creative Team members have been super swamped with holiday kits from our illustrious designers.  I also had a birthday thrown in there and a huge paper project, which I hope you saw, a couple of days ago.  You can check out the Advent Calendar here.

Let's get looking at those sales, the kits and our inspiration.

The Kit Cart Designs has been a part of my life for years now and I'm always excited to see what Jamie has cooked up.  Count Down To Christmas is full of fun and brilliant colours, too.  Check out those super fabric papers?  So warm and cozy and those penguins are just the cutest.

I saw this paper tree idea on Pinterest, of course.  Hehehe...and I couldn't wait to give it a try.  I like the idea so much, I turned this layout into an uber fun template for you.

Another jovial, bright Christmas kit you can find, is Boomersgirl Designs, Count Down To Christmas.  Her store is 50% off, today! Again, I made some more social wear using this kit.  This overlay or what I call, a frickie can be used to design your profile picture.  You could use it as a card or shrink it down and use it as a cluster frame.  Just look at the look on that kid's face!  Hehehe...

This is the coordinating time line photo, with a spot left open for a profile image.  I love that there are kitties in the kit.  Think how you can use these digital kits in all different ways.

This kit is from LouCee Creations and I used a template from Heartstrings Scrap Art as well.  All are on sale!

I love the way this layout turned out!  Just layer up some triangles for the background and add a super awesome cluster frame, some paint and your finished.

Both layouts are made using LouCee's collection, Oh, My Deer.  I love that name. There is a coordinating freebie you can find from a previous blog. 

Over The Fence Designs has a great Christmas kit that is also on promotion at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  If you like the red template on this one, it's also available on our blog for free.

Another free frickie for you.

This is frosty layover that has been a huge hit!  It's already been downloaded hundreds of times.  Use it for a card, layout, cover page or wall paper.  That's me, just about ready to pop with JJ.  To get all of this snow, I had to leave East Flanders and travel down/over to Germany.

This is our hybrid Advent Calendar with free template.

This is a future, free card.  Insert your own photo of choice, print and send or you could crop out the card part and just use the frame.  Stay tuned for the free download.

Christmas Cookie Tags

Welcome to another scrappy edition of The Cherry On Top.

We are doing it hybrid style this Saturday.  Boomersgirl Designs has fabulous kits for hybrid scrapbooking and crafting.  I'll be whipping up some home made cookies for the kids on JJ's bus and these tags will be just perfect for them.  Christmas Cookies is Boomersgirl's newest release and if you act fast, you can grab while it's on sale, too.

Here's a closer look at the kit.

Simply size, print, cut and hang.  

Originally, the tags come out rather large.  I'll shrink them down and place as many as I can on one page  because I'll need 30 of them.  That's going to be a whole lot of cookies!

These cookies are chocolate chip and they are flourless, eggless and there is only 2 tablespoons of brown sugar in there.  The main ingredient is oats that you pulverise into flour.  Not too tricky of a recipe.  The texture is a bit different, but the flavour is totally awesome.  If you do use this recipe, make sure you read ALL of the directions before you get started.
