Freebies and Great Ideas For Father's Day

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We've got all kinds of scrap-alicious going on today and yesterday.  If you missed yesterday's blog, hop back and check it out.  Today, there are some new freebies and a few scrappy gift ideas for dad as well as other ideas that might be right up dad's alley.

I released some new templates yesterday and used one of them for this page using JoCee Designs new to Sweet Shoppe Designs, Rustic Beach.  I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use because I some how remembered the colors were the same.  There are a lot more page layouts with the new templates on yesterday's blog.

If you're here for the freebies, then check out this one in Jo's group.

Speaking of Sweet Shoppe, I used some goodies from an awesome collection, Dadalicious from Clever Monkey Graphics and Studio Basics to design this free printable recipe card with dad in mind.  My husband loves the grill.  Big thanks to Tracey for letting me use some of her goodies.

Needing more ideas for dad?  Here are some of ours and if you follow through to the linked blogs, you'll find even more ideas from others.

This was a really fun project.  Click to see the tutorial and get the free template.

We've got several blogs geared towards dad.  Check out this one and one of our most popular blogs, Manly Eats.  You can find another fun, free printable.  It might be a bit dated, but it is still fun.

If you are looking for more unique ideas for your grill master, these are a few my husband suggested.

-  twine
-  exotic wood chips
-  thermometer (There are some really amazing ones out there.  Even ones with Apps)
-  cast iron wear for the grill
-  good knives and accessories like prongs, fork, spatula
-  a metal basket for veggies and such
-  metal mesh bag
-  cleaning brush (lemons work great to clean your grill, too)
-  rubs and sauces

My husband loves Weber's recipes and the BBQ Pit Boys if you want to fill in this card with a recipe you'd like for him to whip up on the grill.  Maybe print out several and get him a little book ready?

Thanks so much for giving The Cherry a little bit of your day. I hope we made it worth your while.

Happy scrapping!

Free Father's Day Printables From The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Yesterday, we showed off some serious, manly, scrapbooking inspiration, linked you up to some dad related freebies around the web and gave some examples of a few of our own Dad's Day projects in both hybrid and traditional scrap.

Today, I've got a fun page of printables for dear ole dad.

There are three tags and two labels.  I surfed the net for ideas and really liked the labels idea.  Put them around dad's favourite soda, beer or around a canister or 5 of dad's favourite snacks.  Consider recycling some jars or using the very popular Mason jars if you prefer.

Right click on the image and save to your downloads.  Remember our goodies are for Personal Use ONLY.

Print them out as many times as you need.

Cut and get something to adhere.  String, ribbon, tape, glue dots...

Consider dad's favourite snack and recycle some glass jars.

You could use popcorn already popped or soda if ya want to play with words.

Nuts, sweets, beer, soda, bacon bits.  I even checked out a bacon candy recipe that looked interesting.

I used the same colour palette from our Men In Mind Templates that you can find in the shop.  We've got a gallery of inspiration with these templates there as well.

I've also got some more new templates in the shop, this week.

These are layered banner templates.  I'll be blogging a step by step tutorial for them and giving several examples for inspiration and ideas, later next week.

Here's one I made with Made By Keuntje's free mini kit that I gave the links for in yesterday's blog.  If you missed it, click here.

If you need more ideas for Dad, visit our Gifts For Guys board on Pinterest.  It's full of all kinds of ideas.  Things the kids can make.  Hand made crafts and expensive as well as inexpensive ideas.

Thanks so much for stopping by The Cherry!

Dad's Day Ideas with Freebies and Crafting Inspiration

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I just love blog entries like this one!  Full of inspiration, ideas, craft projects, hybrid and digital ideas, too.  There really is something for everyone.  Whether you like getting glitter and ink on your fingers or you prefer the screen and mouse pad, this blog will have something for you.

Let's start off with a few of our projects we've made for Dad.  We'll put the freebies and more page inspiration at the end.

Check out these cards and mini albums we made using our free apron template.  You can go all out traditional or hybrid.  We will show you how.  Above is just a flip card done digitally, printed, cut out and simply added the string to keep it all together and add a nice, soft touch of texture.  Click on either image for a full tutorial and find out where to get that free template.

I designed this mini album traditional and digitally.  The inserts with photos is done digitally while the cover is done traditionally.  This one was for my dad.  The full tutorial is linked up to the image.  Believe me, you save a lot of time doing it digitally.

I designed a template for this card and cannot find it anywhere.  Grrr....I went surfing around and found a digital template from MissTiina.  You can get it by clicking the image, below.  I do have a full tutorial for the above card with a lot tips and tricks that will make the project go fast.  Your kids might even be able to do this one.  If you have a touch of computer savvy, you may be able to design your own template by checking mine out.  It is pictured.

I typed in Father's Day cards on Pinterest and got a lot of images with this kind of card in mind if you need more help.  We've got a board, Gift for Guys that might help you even further.

Here are a few more free Dad related freebies.

Check out our manly inspiration.  We don't always use flowers on our dude pages which can be puzzling for some folks.  What else do ya use?  Look at our elements used in the following scrapbooking pages.

 Dad'll Fix It
 LouCee Creations, Dad'll Fix It

Metal is a great touch to pimp of the testosterone in your pages.  Hehehe...Leather is great, too.  No flowers, here.  Stars, chevrons, strips, screws...Such cute photos of my little bub.

The above page was made with a kit geared towards mechanics and tools, but when ya pull just the right elements out, you can use the kit for anything.

Remember the birds with one stone from last time?  I used your free printable for Dad to make this page.  Hehehe...Think dually with your digital scrap.

Ok, lots of layers, one blue flower and my dear, old dad.  A masculine touch with that colour palette yet warmed up with the wood and that toasty orange colour.

A page using Alexis Design Studio goodies.

What a great way to show off dad, being a dad and grand dad.

Here are a few pages from a designer who isn't designing at the moment.  I thought they were great examples of masculine pages that might inspire you or get the wheels turning.  The denim looks so great and more brown and worn elements and papers.

How beautifully simple is that page?  Go right down the middle and use tiny clusters.  You'll be finished in minutes!

I love making a frame with word bits.  This kit has a military theme, but no problem here.  It also has a nice masculine edge.

Oh, what the heck!  I went a touch feminine with this one.  Hehehe...I've got no problem using flowers or pink in my boy and man pages.  Hehehe...

We recently designed these Men In Mind templates.  They are a great guide for your guy photos and look, NO flowers.  Check out the kinds of elements we used and use similar ones in your pages.

I really love these two pages using our templates.  No flowers in either one of them, but of course you  can use them with the templates, no problem.  These templates are very versatile.  Use them for absolutely any photos you want to scrap.  We just wanted to help guide scrappers who don't like the feminine touches in their photos of men and boys.

That's our wrap up for today.  Tomorrow's blog will have free printables for Dad.

Thanks so much for hanging with The Cherries.  Consider following us here, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and definitely join our group.  I've got exclusive freebies, sneak peaks and friendly chatter. I'll be hosting another Scrap N' Chat soon.  That means a free kit not even released yet and a lot of fun.

Happy scrapping and crafting for Dad!

Free Father's Day Printable With Throwing Some Scraps Around

Welcome to Hybrid Saturday with The Cherry.

We are knocking out a couple of birds with one blog.  Hehehe...I've got some manly inspiration using Throwing Some Scraps Around's new release, Dad.  I've also got a boat of load of coordinating freebies including a sweet, Father's Day printable.

I used a template from Brenian Designs for this layout.  You can find all of her templates here.  I scrapped up dear old dad on his last visit to us which was years ago.  Boo hoo hoo...Good thing I took so many pictures.  Don't want the kids to forget their pappy.

These torn papers are so cool.  I love the very realistic effect it gives to digital layouts.

Dad

I scrapped up my hubby for this one doing what he does best.  Hehehe...I hope you like this cluster because it's a big part of the freebie.  Keep scrolling to see it.

 Dad

This is what the elements look like from Jodi's collection.  The colour palette is just perfect for masculine photos.

Her quick pages are simply stunning.  Add your photos and that's it!

 dad

This is what we've got for you in the form of this week's freebie.

Directions:

-  Download the freebie of your choice or both if you like.
-  Open your scrappy program and insert your desired photo.
-  Print out on rigid paper.
-  Cut around outside.
-  Cut out the hole at the top.
-  Hang over dad's favourite bottle of beverage.
-  Add a bow or other elements if you wish.

If you don't have a program to pop in a photo you can use our generic version with a simple sentiment or you could use an exacto knife to cut out the frame and circle and glue a photo to the back of the tag.

Make sure of your size before printing.  I played and played until I got just the right size circle and tag.  You can always increase or decrease the size as needed in your software program or printer program.  This tag looks great on a regular size bottle as well as...

a larger bottle.

Simply right click and download for your bottle tag.  It is in png format so the background won't show up.  With this version, you could use this tag for any occasion and if you're really savvy, which I know you are, you could paste other embellishments over the moustache and #1 Dad sticker.

There are so many other fun freebies you can snag.  Click on these images to get to Jodi's blog for the links.
