I've only recently started working for Just So Scrappy, but I was a fan long before then.  I bought at least a half a dozen kits.  So, I have a great stash!  Ha!

I thought I'd show you my dilemma with this layout.

You see it's basically the same, but I was kind of weirded out by all of the business from the layout with all of the papers and stitching, but at the same time, I loved the colour, texture and feel of it.  Really!  It's like you can feel this layout.  However, my Andy doll is so special, I didn't want to take his wind!  Hehehe...

I always loved Raggedy Ann and Andy, but only ever received Andy.  Better than nothing, but I think I'll keep my eyes out for his partner.  He has always seemed so lonely to me without Ann.  Hehehe...

As usual, Just So Scrappy's kits are huge!  There are so many goodies, you'll never know which ones to use first.  This makes it great for scrapbooking photo books that ya want printed out!  I like a matchie book and JSS  kits are great for that.

Week #7 TCOT Menu Planner

Hey there, Munchers!

Welcome back to The Cherry On Top's weekly menu planner!

Let's dig right into it, shall we?

Monday:  Fire Cracker Chicken

Is this image just not beautiful? Man, it makes me hungry just looking at it!

Click on the image to get the recipe.  Feel free to cook the rice the way you always do.  I love my rice cooker.  Remember basmati and Thai rice are the best for health reasons and they cook quickly, too.  Stay away from long gran rice.  The varieties of rice is just insane.  Be adventurous and try out a new one!
 

Tuesday:  Huge Salad

That's right!  Don't be chinsy on the good stuff either.  I'm no fan of Iceburg lettuce.  Yuck!  I like romaine and rucola so much better.  Chop up some onions, hard boiled eggs, cucumber, tomatoes,  croutons, ham, chopped chicken...The most dangerous thing you can add is your dressing.  Make something fresh!  An italian dressing is always easy and healthy.  You may find a lot of recipes for this and they put in sugar, but DON'T do it.  Stay away from the stuff as much as possible.

I've got the image all hooked up to this Greek salad recipe with a lovely dressing, too.  If you are laughing at this thinking, "I will be opening a bag of chips 30 minutes later."  Then add some chunks of lovely Feta cheese and or some pasta!  Perfect!

Wednesday:  fresh pasta, chicken and sauce of your choice

OK,  wow!  I was going to look for a basic cream sauce and stumbled across this, baby.  I think this could be a family favourite for you!  Check it out.  Of course, you can add chicken or substitute the bacon with it, but bacon sure does add a hell of a lot of flavour and salt.  So don't add too much more.

Thursday:  M, S,V  = Meat, starch, veg or flex

This day is up for grabs.  Bring home some rotisserie chicken or steak sandwiches or heat up some left overs.  I'll be making my boys favourite which is hot dogs and rostis.  Hehehe...

You can also go back a couple of menu's and choose something from there.

Fun Food Friday:  Ever hear of a smorgasbord or pu pu platter?  We LOVE this!  

Throw some of your favourite cold cuts and cheeses on a tray along with some of that yummy half baked bread that ya just pulled out of the oven and couple that up with some nice, fresh, chopped, raw veggies like carrots, celery, peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes...You can make a sauce or dressing for dipping.  Sit at the living room table, sit on the floor, put in a good family flick and enjoy!

A pu pu platter is just a little bit of everything really.  It's a great way to empty out the fridge, too!

Saturday:  Monte Cristo or grilled cheese or grilled ham and cheese

The image is all set with a recipe for you to follow, of course!

Sunday:  Slow Cooker Fiesta Chicken

Awwe, Man!  I'm ready to eat this now!  I love the versatility of this dish and I most certainly love dumping all of my ingredients in the slow cooker and a couple hours later, it's finished!  You have all day to take the kids to games, scouts, dance...Put it over rice, pasta, eat it as is,with some bread or on a tortilla!

Shhhooooo!   That's it for this week.  Stay away from the restaurants and all of that processed food loaded with conservatives and junk.  Cut back on sugar and feel better!  Save time, money and hassle by planning.

We recently bought a camper!  I'm not an outdoor person really, but I really wanted to give this a try. We bought a super tiny one and  I felt right at home in it.  Until we went with the two small children as well.  They loved it immensely! I slept on the floor and relieved myself in a plastic bucket...Hmmm...  I would like to try it again, but with out the little ones in tow....  Hehehe...

The colours in this kit are really great and resemble those of nature.  I can see these multiple kits being used for all kinds of pictures!  Yay!  It's also 40% off for iNSD!

I've whipped up a little word art for you.  I used some paper from the kit to make it!  Enjoy!

Welcome to The Cherry On Top. Today I'm featuring Throwing Some Scraps Around and of course I have a couple of FREEBIES!

That Boy!  Perfect for my little guys, but not just for boys either!  Take a scroll down the blog and see just what kind of lovely layouts you can make.  Grandma, mom, dad, travel...You name it and this kit will work for any kind of photo or photo less layout!  That's probably the most important aspect in a kit that I look for.

Quick pages are ideal for those of use who don't have a lot of time to create beautiful pages, but for those of us who just love the scrapbooking style of preservation of our cherished moments.  Jodi always keeps this in mind when she designs her kits and includes a couple for you.

See what I mean?!  This page has absolutely nothing to do with boys, yet wow!  I love Monshau and often display its beauty on my layouts.  I've reflected the nature of the photos with natural elements on my layouts.  Bringing nature out is a favourite technique of mine.

You don't always have to use all of the alphabet from a kit.  I really, really like this alpha from That Boy!  Don't you?!  A classic that you could use on almost any kind of layout.  For some very odd reason, I couldn't get the "O" in my gallery when I was scrapping this page.  So, I replaced it with a button.  Hehehe....  Just like in traditional scrapping, sometimes a mistake turns into something special.

That Boy! Yip!  Here's a look at a literal interpretation of this kit.  I'm not the best photographer, but who cares?!  Hehehe...Don't be afraid to use those not so perfect pictures.  I most certainly do not love these photos any less because they are not perfect.

I've mixed up the alpha with a custom created one.  Match up the colour of font with a paper or embellishment from the kit so that it all blends perfectly.  I added some extra, dark shadowing to make it stand out better and added some dimension, too.  This layout did not need flat!  Ha!

This one is from Dana.  She's on the CT as well.  I'm sharing it with you for a couple of reasons.  One being a taste of the versatility and the types of pictures you can use with this kit and...
