Bunny Business Digital Scrapbooking Templates for Easter and A Free Printable Grocery List With Template

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Again, I'm condensing this week's blogging schedule and I didn't even send out a newsletter.  I'm sure this quarantine that's nearly gone on a month is the culprit.  There is no way staying away from and family and friends is psychologically sound for us.  We gotta do what we gotta do!  I hope you're able to stay optimistic during all of this.  I'm fortunate enough to be quarantined at our vacation home where I have a very large yard.  When I'm working outside, it's easier for me to forget all of the chaos and sorrow that is surrounding us.  Hence, my time away from the computer.  It is therapeutic and necessary.

I hope today's entry finds you and yours very well and that you're able to be thankful for what you do have.  There's quite a bit on tap, but I'll abbreviate a bit.  The usual layout love with a spring like theme.  Another free hybrid for you.  I'm sharing a little bit more on our healthy eating series and I've a few more links to some other freebies.

Now, ya know I just love me some Clever Monkey Graphics.  I and several of my gals used Tracey's new collection, Bunny Tails with this week's new Bunny Business templates.  It's in my agenda to take some pictures of my village's Easter decoration and gorgeous flowers.  The tulips are beyond fabulous right now.  I certainly need more to scrap for spring and with my new camera it should be something I can easily tick off of the To Do list.

Let's dive into those new templates and Tracey's cute collection.

For this page, I thought I'd go with the more natural vibe from her Gone Hiking collection.  I scrapped up my mountain and the beautiful Mosel River.  That ruin is an old abbey.

I often mention throughout our blog that planning your menu's is one of the best things you can do.  You'll save time, money and you won't waste nearly as much.  If you are trying to improve upon your eating regiment, I totally recommend NOT buying junk or limiting it as much as possible.  I might buy a bag of chips and that's it.  We often snack on fruit and nuts.  I have certainly learned that when it ain't in the house, we don't eat it.  Besides, when ya go out and about, there is almost always an opportunity to get junk that way.

My youngest son has a heavier form of Autism than my oldest and he has one heck of a sweet tooth.  If there are sweets or junk food in sight, he will always ask for it.  If it's put away or even not available at all, he'll eat something else.  Shoo....I totally recommend this.

In the previous food related blogs over the last couple of weeks, I've touched on what not to eat and gave a few alternatives.  Keep an open mind, now. Don't get discouraged because there is a lot of food out there that you can eat and if you've the internet or even access to a library there is a wealth of recipes and if you look, you'll find things to try and do try new things.

I invite you to peruse my boards on Pinterest.  I typically Pin healthy and healthy-ish stuff.  Hey!  It won't hurt to have a sweet or something fried once a week or so.  As I mentioned before, just don't do it everyday.

The last crucial habit you need to have for good health or to get healthier is to drink water.  Our water in Belgium is just gross.  Gross!  To counter this we purchase bottled water or a make infuses with the tap water which probably should really be filtered.  Cut up citrus fruits, berries, add cucumber or even ginger.  It makes the water a lot more palatable.  Ice helps, too! Do whatever it takes so that you are getting in the recommended water intake.  You might be pleasantly surprised at the huge changes you'll get just from drinking more water!  You should be drinking at least 3-4 liters a day.  I keep a bottle of water at my desk along with a huge canister of nuts, seeds and dried berries to munch on when I get hungry.

Last week, I gave several tips on how to get started eating properly.  Do you even know what a proper diet is?  I thought I knew, but boy was I wrong.  Pop back over to the last week's blog to learn more.

Today, I want to tell you a few things that you absolutely need to stay away from and learn or train yourself to cut back from them until they are out or even nearly out of your diet.  If you are already very ill, then do your best to get rid of them faster.  I always recommend a slow start and don't feel bad if you eat some of them sometimes.

My thought is, if you always eat the things on this list.  Even just a little tiny bit everyday, your body never has a chance to detox and you won't get better.  There are so many illnesses out there and I'll tell ya, most of them are there because we are not eating right.

Here's the list of the things you need to exclude from your eating regiment.

One of the worst things you can eat is sugar and unfortunately it's in nearly everything which is why it's tough to not be sick.  Many of the illness ending with "itis" are inflammatory illnesses and a contributing factor to it is sugar.  Imagine you get a little cut.  The cut gets a touch red and swollen.  Well that's what is happening inside of your body.  This inflammation and swelling which leads to conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, arthritis, lupus...

Make sure you are using the correct oils when cooking  The ones you need to start using, like yesterday are Virgin Olive oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, avocado oil and be stingy and buy the good stuff.  Even butter is still an ok option if used sparingly.  Other oils are highly over processed and wreak havoc on our bodies.  Especially, when they are heated.  Yikes!  Did ya know margarine is just a few ingredients away from plastic?!  Stay far away!

The next thing you need to stay away from or cut way back on is processed meats.  They have all been treated and are often very high in sodium as well.  Things like deli meats, hot dogs, sausage, jerky, bacon, canned meats...If you have a hot dog or a hoagie once a week, it's ok.  Just make sure you are cutting way back and maybe even out.

The last thing you should cut out of your routine eating regiment are refined carbs.  Now, this one is a really tough one for people.  I've cut way back and make it a point to go several days without eating them.  Things like white bread, pasta, rice and other refined versions.  They too, if eaten daily can attribute to the above conditions mentioned and even other ailments.

What I started doing is serving up a good, organic steak with a fresh salad and home made dressing follow the above guidelines.  Usually olive oil and apple cider vinegar.  There are more and more alternatives out there that are actually beneficial for our health.  Oats, quinoa, seeds, beans and pasta made from these are a much healthier alternative.  Just skip your starchy carbs in your meals a few times a week.

Just so ya know, even depression and anxiety can be worse if we are not eating correctly.

I'm not a doctor, but I am on the road to find the best way to eat to stay healthy, live a long life and teach my children how to do the same.  My boys have Autism and my hubs has a heart condition so our diet is essential.  They have rid their bodies of several symptoms through a good eating regime.  Eating fresh can save your life and improve it!  (Most of the information given here is from doctors.)

You are going to need this recipe card if you don't have your own.  No worries, it is free from last week's blog.  It's for the last challenge in the group and our What's Cook'n kit.

Let me tell you, there is no better way to eat healthy, save money and waste less, than having a well planned menu AND grocery list.  It's a total game changer.  I blogged extensively about it, here.  Read more, it is totally worth the read.  I've week's worth of menu's all planned for you if you are interested.  Check out Weekly Menu Planner on Pinterest.  These were made before I read all about the damage that starchy carbohydrates can cause, so mix up the menu's with some meatless meals and starch free ones.  I've got a Vegan board, a Food and Dessert Board as well as Lunch For the Lil' Ones, but it's good for the big ones, too!
