What Is Pinterest?!

Hi there fans!

I've got a little something different for you today.  If you are already following me on Pinterest, well thanks!  You get the idea of what The Cherry is all about.

Pinterest is my other addiction.  It's a place where ya pretty much just look at pictures.  I love that! They cut right to the chase.  You can "like" a Pin by clicking on the little heart.  You can Pin a Pin, which is like putting it on a prick board.  The other thing you can do is comment on a Pin.

You "Follow" people, companies, Starz, etc...Things you are interested in.  It is totally FREE.  You don't get any kind of junk mail either.  If you set the right settings.  I've never ever had any kinds of problems with Pinterest.

To the left, I've put all kinds of images representing a couple of different boards that The Cherry On Top has on Pinterest.  Follow All of my boards or go through and pick and choose the ones you like best.

My most popular boards are "Free Stuff", "Color", "Templates" and "Scrap Ideas", but I have a lot more than that.

The first image is from a free stamp download I found on Pinterest.  It's fabulous, no?!  There is a ton of free stuff to be had there!  Check out my Vintage Board, too!  That's where you can find images like the gorgeous air balloons.  I just love that and recently used it on a layout.

Are you into DIY?  Saving money?  Buying things on a budget?  Then Pinterest is the place for you.  Look at that cool image with the wire wisks and the tea candles!  So simple and so fabulous!

I have all kinds of templates on my Pinterest Board, "Templates".  Like the one you see with the stars.  Great for scrapbooking traditionally, digitally or even for card making.

A little further down, you see an expanded Pin with a cool project for making jewellery.  I thought it would be great for your bored teens and tweens or maybe you like it yourself?!

Then you see a picture of poppy seed and lemon cake.  Yummy!  I get so many recipes from Pinterest.  If this is your thing, you can follow a lot of people who like the same things you do.  I like really healthy stuff with all natural ingredients and rarely deviate from that, but there are a lot of people out there who just love chocolate, desserts, wine, etc.  You name it and you can find it on Pinterest. 

My most popular digital scrap board is A-manda Creation, but I've got a lot of other ones you can follow to keep up to date with your favourite designers.  The last image will take you to that board and the big "P" in the red box at the top of my blog will take you to Pinterest where you can find all of The Cherry On Top's boards.

It is really, really easy.  When you are on the internet and you see something, like say that layout with the cute little boy...hehehe...You'll have a Pin button at the top of your browser, if you install it there and you click on "Pin It".  Then you choose the board you want to put it on.  One that you create.

Life Is Lovely with Freebies

Le'me guess!  You came to look at the pretty pictures and grab the freebies?!  LOL!  

Well, I'll get right to it!  Obviously, the first layout is my favourite!  This kit is "Life Is Lovely" created and designed by Celeste at Touched By A Butterfly.  She's my designer in the spot light, today.  How about this kit, Folks?!  The palette is so soft and sweet I wanna touch it!

This layout I used as a scrap lift example over on my Facebook Page. I've been putting up inspiration every day to keep my fans on their toes and keep them scrapping!

My little cutie.  Don't be afraid to use flowers and soft colours with boy's pages.  Especially, when you don't have GIRLS TO SCRAP!!!  Hehehe...

"Life Is Lovely" is not too soft to scrap the men in your life!

Before you get a closer look at the kit, let's get to know Celeste from Touched By A Butterfly a little better.  She lives in good ole F-L-A!  My old stomping grounds!  What a great place to give the inspiration she has for her gorgeous creations.  I asked what three things she found most important when designing and she responded:  "Theme, colour scheme and quality".  No surprise there!  That definitely shows in her work.  "Coming up with the theme and title" are some her greatest challenges. I must say, she is not alone there either!  As a CT member for 13 designers, I get that question A LOT!

Celeste is just like me when it comes to getting the colour scheme together.  It's our favourite part!  Although she did admit that, "Sometimes it's a hot mess!"  She is such a trip and a joy to work with!

Here are some ideas on how to use the freebie.  It's practically a feature in my first layout.  Crop the length of lace if you and shrink it up to make a cluster like I did with the one on top of the frame.

On this layout I made it the entire length of the page, copied over the lace on the opposite side and mirrored just a few elements, but in the same type of cluster for cohesion and unity.

"Owly You" FREEBIES

My girl Romajo has a new kit out, "Owly You".  How cute is that?!  I wanted to brew up a little excitement, so I asked our Facebook fans to Like our status and when we got to 20 combined Likes, I'd whip up a FREEBIE.  I thought I'd make two.  One for here and one for over on Facebook. To my complete astonishment, I got those likes in just a couple of minutes!  Awesome!!!

Birthday FREEBIES!!!

Happy birthday to me....

So, I put up a nice cluster frame on my Facebook Page and felt like that just wasn't enough.  I brewed up a page stacker, too.  You may use both together as well.  They are both versatile and they are yours just for being a fan of The Cherry On Top.

I've been stock piling a bunch of CU stuff and finally came up with something to do with it!  Most of this is from Feli and the bling is from Manu Scraps.  They make beautiful stuff.  I buy most of my CU stuff from The Studio ON SALE!  Hehehe...  I also subscribe to the newsletter where they give a freebie every week.  That's right a FREE CU every week.
