Throw Back Thursday with a Free Template

Welcome to Throw Back Thursday with The Cherry On Top.

Every Thursday, I show you a piece of history as well as bring back freebies from the past that you may have missed.

Today, I've got a fun, classic photo of girls having fun and some kits that would be so great to scrap up those fun girlie times.  Key Lime Digi Designs is all about glorious girlie glamour so I'm teaming her up with my photo.

I'm the little blondie pictured with my very best friends.  I believe we are sporting some Jordache jeans and winter wear, which wasn't very typical in Florida.

Keep reading to see some really bodacious kits from Key Lime Digi Designs, lots of layout loving and check out the free template from a few months ago that you may have missed.

Sandy has put this kit on sale for just $3!!!

Bermuda Shorts from Key Lime Digi Designs

Are these colours not kick you in the pants, wake up and smile?!  I feel this palette epitomises The Cherry.  Hehehe...That's a very recent picture of me sipping on some decent brown beer in my favourite restaurant in Bremm, Germany.

The patterned paper is really fantastic and Sandy's usual thoughtful elements are great for any kind of page or project.  How about a hybrid card to cheer someone up?  Perfect!

Here is a peep at the preview.  It and the layout are linked up to the GingerScraps store.

There we are!  All scrapped up.  How awesome is Pinky Promise?! I used Made By Keuntje's, "Sunburst Templates".

This layout is what inspired our Throw Back Template and I'm using, All Things Beautiful.

That's my mom with my niece and nephew.

Here is my other niece with my fun, Stamp It Up template.  Don't be afraid to use larger elements on your layouts.  Sandy's elements are very quality and handle larger sizes.

Traditional Scrapbooking Tuesday With The Cherry On Top

Welcome to Traditional Scrap Tuesdays.

We are continuing with our mini travel album.  We're quite a few pages in and going strong.

Get a few tips and inspiration in today's entry and take a peek at a couple of other pages.

Be on the look out for some interesting boxes that you can use for our/your cards and tags that we will be starting in the upcoming months.  The holidays are coming and you need to be ready.  It's always better scrapbooking and paper crafting when there is a purpose.  Stay tuned for more!

Would you call this a simple page?  At first I thought it was really simple and it certainly did not take a lot of time to design, but I'm not sure I'd describe it as simple with all of those embellishments.  It certainly was easy so let's go with this easy, natural layout.  Hehehe...

I wanted to make a banner for today's layout.  I already had these cute stickers for it, in the pizza box.  I immediately went for string then thought, "Why not ribbon?"

This mini is coordinating very nicely.  Each page uses the same colour palette, papers and many of the same kind or style of embellishment.  It will give the finished project a very cohesive look, which I totally dig.

I'm wishing I would have added a few more layers of coloured background, but otherwise, it's ok.

Here are a few other pages.

This page will be on the other side of the first page posted.  I copied the button usage as well as these beaded swirls and white flowers.  The swirls were just one huge embellishment and I cut the pieces that fit the best out.
There were also some tiny porcelain roses in the mix, but I was not liking them with the beads so I ditched them, too.

Find out what aspects of scrapbooking you like most and focus on that.  You don't have to spend a fortune to have something beautiful.  You don't need to spend hours behind the desk either.  If time is a problem (and it usually is) keep your scrapping simple and don't put a lot on your plate.  Use collections so you don't have waste time rummaging through your stash. One layout or page at a time...

Thanks so much for checking out The Cherry.  We'll be back on Thursday and we are throwing it back, as usual.  We'll show you an older, free template you may have missed and we'll have Key Lime Digi Designs back in the spotlight, too.

Until then, happy scrapping!

AuSumness and The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

You used to find blog entries for Autism on my blog, but lately they are not here.

No worries!  We are still blogging useful tips, tricks, information, research, links and anecdotes relating to Autism.  We started a new, separate blog especially for it and it is called AuSumness, Finding the Awesome in Autism.

There is a whole heck of a lot of awesome in Autism.  Just as much if not more than the less favourable behaviour associated with it.  Some times you have to wait for that moment and relish in it and other times you have to dig to find it.

There is a brand new entry just up, today.  Head on over and start following us there.  We also will keep Pinning those posts from AuSumness on our Autism board on Pinterest.

Thanks for stopping by The Cherry.  We'll see ya at AuSumness!

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's Freebie Friday.

My gal LouCee is back in the spot light.  She has a lovely collection for the kitty lover in you.  These warm colours are so cozy and they go together so well with your furry friends like my first kitty, Puka.  He was such a doll baby.  The first of many!  Hehehe...I do love my kit-ehs and what better collection to show that love.

LouCee released another fab kit while I was on vacation and I just HAD to play.  Is this kit The Cherry or what?!  Those luscious, bight colours, lovely little girlies and ALL of those flowers. Gah, Gah, Gah!  I was in scrappy heaven.

 Flora's Flowers by LouCee Creations

As you may know, I have two boys and the girlie photos are typically of my nieces and sometimes my friend's kids.  My girlfriend Cat has two beautiful children.  Mate being one of them.  She is full of beauty and sass.  My favourite combination.  Hehehe...

I used a kicking template from Throwing Some Scraps Around.  Keep scrolling to see a preview, click on it and check out what Jodi has on her blog.  Freebies for sure and a store full of great goodies at Cherry prices.

Here are Jodi's templates.

September Blog Train Template Freebie

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We are back with another free template for the Leigh Penrod and Friends monthly blog train.  Last month I left on vacation and left many hoppers hanging because my link stopped working.  I can't apologise enough for that.  It took us forever to get internet in our new place.  Usually, things run very smoothly around here and this time we'll prove it.

Enjoy this new, free template and scroll further to see the one you missed last month.  We are leaving the links up especially long as a way to say sorry. We've also got a few previews of some of the other stops from the train and inspiration.  Click on this image to get the psd and tiff versions of this free template.

Consider using a huge picture for a background.  Of course, you can use a paper if you like.  This template is mega flexible.  You can design one sweet cluster and just copy paste it on all three appropriated places to save time.  This layout was whipped together in minutes.

When my link was leaving everyone hanging, I was hanging out in that village to the right, along the river in these pictures.  Hehehe...What a view, eh?  This is from atop the Calmont in Germany.  It took my breath away.  Good thing there was delicious white wine and pretzels there!  Hehehe...

Here are some more layouts from my Scrappy Sisters.

This is from Jodi at Throwing Some Scraps Around.  She is showing off a new kit, In My Day.  Click the gorgeous layout to see the kit and maybe catch another freebie.
