Fabulous Scrapbooking Freebies For Friday

Welcome to Freebie Friday with The Cherry On Top.

As usual we are here to bring you fabulous scrapbooking inspiration and show off DigiLand's newest goodies for scrapbooking.  These designs can be used traditionally or digitally.  If you're a die hard traditional scrapper, don't be turned away by digital.  You can totally lift our inspiration for your personal pages.  Often, for Traditional Tuesday, I show how to take a digital design to paper pages.

I'm showing off new goodies from Throwing Some Scraps Around, Aimee Harrison Designs and new templates from The Cherry On Top with your fur babies in mind, again.  Of course, I've links to some of the hottest freebies on the net.

 Throwing Some Scraps Around templates

Can you believe these two pages were made with a free collection?  That's right!  These pretty pages show off the Digi Scrap Parade's goodies and they are ALWAYS fabulous.  This one really won me over.  The colours!  Divine!  For both layouts, I used Throwing Some Scraps Around new, fabulous templates, Circle Me.

How's that picture above, for a throwback?!  What I wouldn't do for those tanned skinny arms and that lovely shade of blonde.  Man!  Beach life in Florida was tough.  Hehehe...

 Throwing Some Scraps Around templates

Here's a more modern shot of some beautiful swans swimming in the Mosel River in Germany.  They did not appreciate our intrusion and sent us running.   Hehehe...But how about this kit and these great templates?!  A must have for your scrap stash, for sure.

Recognise my page layout?  I used my newest set of digital templates found in our shop, Kreative Design Studio.  A huge shout out to all of our customers so far.  We're off to one heck of a good start and wanted to thank store visitors, too.  Favouriting our shop and our items makes them more visible for others.  If ya don't have the dosh to buy our items, you can always "thank" us by leaving love around social spots, including our store.

Aimee Harrison's newest release, Forever Friends is so bold and beautiful it just makes ya smile!

I want to point out something exceptional with this series of templates and that is the packaging and formats.  Notice, in the top left corner, Page Only and PSD, TIF, PNG.  Page formats are often larger than other formats and Etsy's upload sizes are only 20 mb so I had to separate these templates to meet these requirements.  Page format is sold separately .  so make sure you order the correct one.  If ya do mess it up, no worries.  Just shoot me an e-mail and we'll get it all straightened out.

Allow  me to woo you with some lovely inspiration from my Cherry-Tastic Team.

Scrapbooking Challenge! Turn Your Digital Page Into A Traditional One

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's Traditional Tuesday.

I posted this page in a traditional group that I am in and I was bombarded with questions as well as dozens of lovely comments.  Thanks if you were one of them!  This page is from a series of free digital templates that I designed last year and perhaps one of my all time favourite photos of my oldest.

I must confess that this layout was scrapped in minutes, once I figured out how to get that cool caterpillar look for my photo.  I did lift this idea and so can you either digitally or traditionally.  To see the digital version on how to do this, click on the image.

Keep reading to see the various ways you can do this traditionally.  I've got  more traditional pages here and a link to a free cutting template and another scrapbooking challenge, too.

 Free Template

It really doesn't matter how many photo spaces you use.  I'd say it might depend on the detail of your photograph.  One thing that is important, is that your photo has a lot of background.  This way you do not have your faces or important details split up.  Check out both of these pages.  The faces are nearly entirely in contact.

Keep that in mind when you're doing this traditionally.  You'll see further the kind of photographs I chose for this kind of style.  Digitally done, this is so much easier.

Another aspect of both pages you may have seen is how huge the photo is.  You don't have to use such a large photo.  However, you can see I didn't need a lot of other stuff to finish my page either, making this a pretty fast scrap with limited embellishments needed.

I chose about a dozen photos before going with these two.  The first one is all background, but taken at such a distance that when chopped up to pieces you'll still get a clear picture of just what it is.  The second picture is full of background and I'll be able to get each boy in his own photo spot without messing with the balance of the photo.

Check out how I marked the back of my photo with 3 centimetres in between each.  It really doesn't matter too much where I'll cut the beach scene, but for the boys it will.  For that one, I'll be using a grease pencil on the photo itself.  I'll have that in another blog.

I want to show ya something in the photo above.  I printed out both of my photos at home on a photo paper that is thick, but not very glossy.  Check out what happens to the edges.  Terrible!  This is what happens when ya don't use glossy paper.  The ink comes off a bit.  I wanted to show you this so that you might consider using professionally printed photos.  They will more than likely last longer and come out more crisp.

Here's what they look like.  I chose to ink with black all around each spot to conceal some of that annoying white from the paper.

Then I chose to use black to mat my spots after putting my photo on a bunch of options.

I quite like the way the black looked on this paper and thought my photo didn't get all drowned out by it either.  The photo is a touch on the dark side so the light paper is a good choice it also contrasts perfectly with my matting.

I've also showed ya one way to place your spots.

Above, yet another manner to place your photo spots.  I did under, over, under...and matched up the photo with the one before and after it.  This way you get a really good image of the photo itself, in whole.

Here's yet another way to position your strips, but that image is making me coo coo.  Hehehe...

This how I decided to position my strips.  I did like the slight interruption between each photo strip and you still can get a great view of the entire photo.  For the other photo, I'm going to go over under and raise the upper layer with some foam tape.  You'll see that in a future blog.

I'm using this Posh collection from Simple Stories for both of my layouts I'm working on with the caterpillar style photograph.  I thought I'd share my other nearly finished pages with the collection.  I just need to get my photos pasted.

Above is a project life style page using the awesome cards from the paper pack and some left over strips.  Pretty easy!

I love this page.  I did it at the pizza box event at Tiny's Hobby in Kortrijk.

I also did this one there, too. I can't wait to get my pictures from our vacation in Spain on these spots.

Here's something that might interest you.  It was my first challenge where we take our digital pages to paper.  I've provided a template with these basic shapes for you.  Click on the image, below to get it.

Sweet Scrapbooking Freebies For Freebie Friday

Welcome to Freebie Friday with The Cherry On Top.

I've got a lot of scrapbooking inspiration for you, today as well as some introductions to new releases from Aimee Harrison Designs, MagsGraphics and The Cherry.  Of course, we've got freebies as well.

Let's dive on into all of this scrappy goodness, shall we?

 Signs of Spring

We'll start off with Aimee Harrison Designs.  She's got plenty of new collections.  Nearly a new one every week and they are always delightful.  I scrapped up my girlfriend's daughter with Aimee's newest release, Signs Of Spring.  I'm just loving these colours and that pop of black makes them look even brighter.

Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating when I use the border and clusters from Aimee's collection.  It makes scrapbooking so fast!  That border to the right is from the collection.  All I had to do was design another cluster for the left corner and mimic some of the elements from the border for cohesion.

The shop is all linked up to the image.  It's always one heck of a deal when it first comes out.

 Coaster Craze

 Coaster Craze

And now on to MagsGraphics.  She's back with more fun goodies and this time, two kits for you.  Coaster Craze is the kit I used, above.  I paired it up with a fantastic template from Lissy Kay Designs.  That cluster I designed came together so fast, too!  Ya know ya got a good kit or collection when everything just falls into place.

 Show Time

Here's another treat of a kit from Maggie, Show Time!  I grew up on the stage and went to a magnet school for theatre as well.  I still dabble with voiceovers which I might like doing more than scrapbooking.  Hehehe...My son and I were reading for a cartoon series.  That's always been a dream of mine!  Again, I love the colours and the bright and black adds for so much drama to your pages.

 free daily download

Check out my double layout using March's Daily Download at GingerScraps given by MagsGraphic Designs.  How awesome is it going to be getting all of these goodies FOR FREE?!  The hardest part is remembering to go everyday to get the goods, but no worries.  They leave the links up for FIVE DAYS.  So you'll have time.

 Free daily download

The bubbles are not included in the kit, but I love bubbles and look for excuses to use them.  They really help bring the page to life.

Here's a look at some new goodies in our shop, Kreative Design Studio.  Above you'll see my newest set of templates.  I've also got them as quick pages with the exception of the last one.  I've replaced it with one I've made when I designed the kit, which will also be in the shop soon along with a few other goodies to coordinate and make a fantastic collection.  I snuck in a free quick page with purchase of the other pack of quick pages.

 Dog Daze Quick Pages

Another new goodie in the shop is this North Carolina Page Starter kit.  18 elements and 7 coordinating papers as well as that fantastic word art for your title pages.  That's pretty much my concept.  I design really big, fun State word art and just give the rest of the stuff in the kit, with the papers being free.

 North Carolina Scrapbooking Kit

This entire starter kit including the title word art is just 1,99.

 North Carolina Starter Kit

As you can see, this kit is not just for North Carolina pictures.  I like to toss in some general elements so you can keep using the kit over and over.

 North Carolina Starter Kit

And here's a look at how you can use the title with a project life style layout and easily scrap up some journal cards with the kit.  Scrap fast and pretty with The Cherry!

 free template

Above, you'll see a free template from Wednesday.  Click on it to get to the download.

And here is the hybrid project I've got all ready for next Saturday with a free frame for you.  I printed out the page and the frame and just pasted my page to the frame rather than under.  This way I didn't have to cut out the inside of the frame.  I still think it looks great!

I nearly forgot!  TOMORROW, I'll be a part of yet another blog train and this time it's all FREE TEMPLATES.  So, I'll see ya then!

Thanks so much for hanging with The Cherry!

If ya love the freebies then ya gotta get linked up to my page.  I post free stuff nearly every single day.  Seriously, I miss like 2 or 3 days a year.  Hehehe...I've also got a board dedicated to free stuff on Pinterest and of course I hang out at Instagram, too.  Hehehe...

Happy scrapping!
