Stay Magical Scrapbooking Collection From Made By Keuntje and The Cherry On Top With Unicorns, Glitter and Rainbows, Oh, My!

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Eek!  I'm just a little excited about my collaboration with Made By Keuntje!  This collection just embodies who I am.  All of this bright, vivid colours and whimsical unicorns and rainbows.  Eek!  It's packed full of fun and frivolity.  So many flowers, glitters and papers to choose from and that's not all.  We've even got coordinating templates, quick pages, stackers AND planner goodies, too.  Ya see why I'm so excited?!

Keep reading to check out this totally awesome collection, get an eye full of inspiration that'll have you dying to scrap with it and consider downloading my tiny freebie.  Hehehe...

Holy, wow!  I just realised that the little girl here is on the toilet!  Hehehe...  What a fun, fun page Jodi from Throwing Some Scraps Around has done.  She used my template and Dana's fabulous goodies to scrap up this fantastic creation.  I can't decide what part I like best.

Let's take a peep at all of this awesomeness!

 Made By Keuntje

Rainbows, clouds, unicorns, sprinkles, hearts, ribbons...my goodness that is one heck of a pack of terrific embellishments.  Scrap your heart out, Baby!

 Made By Keuntje

Dana has designed several different paper packs for this collection.  It's so hard to choose a favourite.

 Made By Keuntje

I'm loving the word art, too.  I'm dreadful when it comes to journaling and often the word art is just the piece that page is missing.

 Planner Printables

Here are the planner printables I designed.  A sheet full of borders or tapes, another sheet with a few more borders, some lovely journal or project life style cards, banners, buttons...Just what you need to have a really exciting planner, agenda or just plain stickers to use on anything.

Tip:  When you print on a semi or gloss paper like sticker paper, the colours come out more true and crisp. Another tip, if your printer has a "high quality" option, use it.

The printables come in png format so you can use them traditionally as well as digitally.  I've left the shapes super easy to cut out if you don't have one of those fancy cutters.  Only 2,99 for three sheets!  That's just a buck a piece.

 Stay Magical Stacked Badges

These are my stackers or badges or whatever you decide to call them.  Don't they just sparkle and make you smile?  So much fun stacked up onto these.  I love them!!!  These would make beautiful stickers or embellishments for your pages either traditionally or digitally scrapped and just ,99 cents for six stacks.

 Stay Magical Templates

Here are my pride and joy templates.  I have notebooks and boards full of inspiration.  When Dana asked if I'd collaborate, I went straight for them.  I started with the unicorn and then sought out some designs that would accommodate rainbows and other youthful fun.  These 4 magical templates are just 1,99 in my shop. They are split in 2!!

Stay Magical Quick Pages

Is that unicorn insane or what?!  Is that not total Cherry style?!  Hehehe...Quick pages are just fantastic when you don't have time to scrapbook or you don't scrapbook at all.  A quick page is a fully scrapped page.  All you have to do is put your favourite photo behind the page, in the spot.  These pages are in png format, so they can be opened in most any software.

Print them out in your desired size (8x8 and 6x6 is my favourite size and your printer should accommodate those sizes and a 12x12 is easy to convert to these other sizes) and slide them right in a sleeve or have them professionally printed in a book via a company like Persnickety or Foto.com.

Quick pages make great wall photos and screen savers, too!

 Stay Magical Quick Pages

I wanted so badly to get a folded shadow on the yellow petals, but I could only figure out how to get them to go up and down and not left and right.  Grrr..Hehehe...If ya plan on lifting this page, traditionally, take your heart punch, then do a soft fold up the middle of your heart/petal to give your flower dimension.

 Stay Magical Quick Pages

I used a card for inspiration for this page and I scrapped my best friend's lovely daughter.  I kept the word bits generalised so you can put nearly any photo in the spot.  Even a landscape picture would fit.

 Stay Magical Quick Pages

There's one of my nieces.  Isn't she just a delight?  I bet you've got the perfect shot to go right in that photo spot!

 Stay Magical Templates

I grabbed a couple of the ladies pages to show off more of the kit and my templates.  Above is Dana's spectacular page that puts the entire collection in the perfect light.

 Stay magical Templates

Here is Marie's page.  Eek!  Just what I envisioned when I designed the template.  Look at those cheeks!  Such a fun page!

 Stay magical Templates

I cannot believe what the ladies have done with this extraordinary template.  We've got a lot more inspiration on our social spots like Facebook and Pinterest.  There is so much more to see! Magalie worked her magic filling in all of those flowers and blinging up the gemmy outline.  How sweet?!

I hope you enjoyed this entry as much as I did!  Here is your fabulous, Friday freebie.  It's for personal use ONLY.  Thanks so much for checking us out, today!

Free Scrapbooking Photo Reel Template, Tutorial and Inspiration from The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I promised to have a photo reel on the blog for my Traditional Scrappy Sisters and I am delivering.  I've got plenty of inspiration to get your Mojo flowing, a tutorial and some helpful hints on how to scrap with these reels both digitally and traditionally.

Scroll along with us, download the free template and get scrappy!

 Lissy Kay Templates

Lissy Kay Designs has some mega cool reel template pages.  I've linked up all of my scrap pages, to her shop with the goodies.

Above you can see an alternative and EASY way to scrap these reels.  I thought the reel looked super with this pretty patterned paper and in place of all of those tiny, sometimes hard to fill photo spots, another patterned paper.

 Lissy Kay Templates

Since I had to watch the dog while everyone else frolicked in the river, my photos were from further away and were not really easy to scrap until this template came along.  It was the perfect solution!  Multiple photos, that were tiny.  They can be used for your other photos, that have a lot of background around the main image.

If you choose to use it digitally, you could opt for merging all of the photo spots as well as the centre layer...

Add your photo with a lot of background, crop it into place and crop in a pretty paper for the reel, to get a look like my swam reel.

I'm offering several different templates in a pack that you can purchase in my Kreative Design Studio shop.  This example above, is for larger photos.  It might be a bit easier to scrap up traditionally and I've left a separate photo spot to use as a template.  Take the separate spot, put it over your photo and use a grease pencil to trace around it.  Cut out the 8 spots and adhere them over the reel template in their respective place.  Each spot can be moved, digitally to your desired location.  They may not be just perfect.

There's a larger view of my swan reel.  These guys were so beautiful, until they spotted us.  Then they came on strong and we went a running!  hehehe...

This is what the larger spots look like.  I reely like the way they came out.  Hehehe...  If you are into hybrid and saving a LOT of time, hehehehe...you could use the digital templates to design something like above, on your computer, add the "low" shadow to make it appear that the spots are under the reel, print it out and use it traditionally.

 Lissy Kay Templates

These pages were made with the older set of reels from Lissy Kay, but they are equally as awesome as the new set.  The reels are great for showing off a lot of photos and featuring your favourite.  Above, I even left a few of the spots with just paper in them.  You can do that to show off whatever elements you may have on top of them or if ya don't have enough photos.

 Lissy Kay Templates

Here's yet another way to use the reels in Lissy's templates.  I used black paper for the spots and a fun design paper for the reel and clipped out the centre to show my background paper underneath.  How versatile!

Photo Reel Templates from The Cherry On Top

You'll find my templates even more flexible!  I've got NINE different reels for you!  If you're not super savvy with the software, then all of these options will be ideal.  I've showed off a few in the preview, above.  Some of the templates provide that "low" shadow I mentioned earlier.  It is to give the "effect" that the spot is under the reel.  Of course, if you are using these traditionally, that won't matter and you can decide to clip out the squares and put the photos under the reel, though it would be more time consuming.  Just 1,99 for 9 templates!

Free Photo Reel Template from The Cherry On Top

This freebie is no longer available, but don't worry this blog and our new site is full of free stuff.

I also found a pretty nifty blog where you can get a free SVG for another reel template and there's another tutorial there, too.  It's for the traditional scrappers.

If you use it and want to show it off, put it in our scrappy group on Facebook or leave a link in the comments where we can find it.

Thanks so much for hanging out with The Cherry!

Happy scrapping!

Traditional Scrapbooking With Photo Reels, Tutorial and Free Template

Welcome to Hybrid Saturday with The Cherry On Top.

As you may have seen from a few previous blogs, these photo reels are all of the rage as of late and so I'm providing all kinds of tutorials for how to scrap with them hybrid, traditional and digital style as well as providing a free template and a series of photo reel templates are in our shop, as well so you have even more options to scrap with them no matter your scrapbooking style.

Check out our inspiration, tutorial and come back on Tuesday when we've got the free template.

I used a template from Lissy Kay Designs for my page above and used it as my inspiration for my creation of templates and tutorials.

I will honestly admit, that I was not looking forward to doing these wheels traditionally.  It's going to take a lot more work and time for nearly the same result which is why I find combining digital scrapbooking with traditional to be totally ideal.  Save time and resources by hybrid scrapbooking!  You don't have to give up the glue and glitter at all.  Keep reading to see what I mean.

Here, you see a choice of my templates, printed out along with some photos to finish a page.  In the first example, I digitally inserted or cropped in my photos to the reel.  This is a HUGE TIME SAVER and I have a much better choice of photos I can use because I can decrease the size digitally to fit in the square rather than the other way around.  If you are doing this traditionally, you'll have to make the photo fit in the box and that's not always easy.

For the reel with the swans, I digitally, selected all of the photo spots as well as the spot in the centre, in this particular template, merged the layers and chose one photo with a lot of background to put in all of the photo spots.  It literally, took me seconds to do it.  I could increase and decrease the size of my photo this way and slide it left or right, bottom or top to get just the right fit.  It won't be that easy, traditionally.

But I am going to do it traditionally just to prove that it CAN be done!  Hehehe... So, here we go!

Take a peep at my photo sheet.  I chose several  fun photos of my nieces and my boys at a sleep over, here and put them all on one paper.  Remember, quality paper is essential for a nice picture.  Use a gloss or semi gloss paper as well.  The colours will come out a lot more crisp and true.

These circle templates from Fiskar are old, but they totally rock!  You are supposed to use a circular cutting tool that comes with the templates, but I haven't figured out how to use them without making small faults.  My cuts were never perfect.  Especially, on flimsy paper.  I just cut with scissors, slowly and cautiously for a satisfactory cut.

I checked out the colours in my photos and went through my collections of traditional scrap products and found this old one.  The colours were spot on and I just love when the photos match my collection.  I'm so frugal, I keep the packaging from my collections and use it as well for embellishments.  Hehehe... You can also see I have a crude sketch for my layout.  Sketches save so much design time.

How fortunate that my circular stencil fits my template?!  Total luck!  The above reel is completely digitally done.

Here's my sheet of fun photos.  All ready to crop into my spots, traditionally.  You see, I've provided one square outside of the reel to use as a template.  Place it over your photos, trace around and cut it out.  I use either a black or white grease pencil for tracing on photo paper and a pencil for regular paper.  I would suggest using something like this as a test for this project before you go using those "good" photos that might not fit perfectly.

I place the white square over the spot on the photo I want to cut out, then hold it up to a light or window and position it exactly where it needs to go, then trace and cut.  Tah dah, the first spot is in place!

The quality doesn't project so well here, but it really is quite good.  All of the spots fit very nicely into place and I didn't use any special, fancy materials.  My template and scissors is all.

I thought it'd be fun to put this larger, round photo in the centre.  Otherwise, the reel looks a bit plain. You could make a label or some other nice scrap paper to put there.

As you can see, I used the reel as a template, traced it on to this nicer, white card stock, positioned my photos in to their approximate locations then used a glue stick for permanent placement.  I chose a glue stick because it allows room for slight movement and does not warp the paper like liquid glue.

I'll be back for Traditional Tuesday with that free template and the week after, I'll hopefully have this full layout complete.

 Photo Reel Templates

These are templates in the shop. There are NINE of them and it's just 1,99!  You can use them traditionally or digitally.

Thanks so much for hanging with The Cherries!

Freebie Friday With The Cherry On Top and Kim Cameron Designs

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's, Freebie Friday.

I've got an eye full of lovely scrap inspiration, some new templates from our shop, a look at an upcoming free template, a sweet freebie for you and a plea for you to put your pennies where it counts and help out a friend's grandchild.

This layout is getting a lot of attention.  I wonder why exactly that is?  I would assume it's because of the cutest, darn cowboy in all the wild west.  Maybe those mega fun photo reels?  Or is it Kim Cameron's fabulously wild kit, Tumbling Tumbleweeds?  Hehehe...Either way, it is one great page.

 Photo Reel templates

I was asked if I could design a template of these photo reels for a traditional scrapbooking group that I am in and I'm just terrible at saying, no.  So, there ya have it!  I designed a very large set of NINE different templates and I've got them in the shop for just 1,99.  They are unbelievably versatile.  You can check out the gallery in the shop to see the many things you can do with them.

Come back for Traditional Tuesday and get this free template, while it lasts.  It comes in psd, tiff and a flat png format so traditional users can print it and use it for their pages, too.  I'll have another tutorial this Saturday in my hybrid spot to show how you can use the templates hybrid style and traditionally.

 Little Moments and PuurFect Templates

Here's another new layout with Kim Cameron's Little Moments kit and my PuurFect templates.  See! No kitties on the page!  It's best to look at the basic layout of a template and not the elements for more versatility.  Just because there is an ellie with a kitty, doesn't mean you need to scrap a cat.  Speaking of which, keep reading to find out how you can get my newest kit, for FREE before it releases!  How sweet is that?!

 Seaside Serenade and Sunshine Template

Seaside Serenade is another lovely kit from Kim.  I used my Sunshine template for it.  Find the template here.  It's just .99 cents.

Safari Adventure and Made By Keuntje Template

Safari Adventure paired up with fun templates from Made By Keuntje.  Find the kit by clicking on my page.

Stone Age and 57 Chevies Templates

Kim's Stone Age kit and my boys playing in a small cave by our place in Germany.  Guess which one did NOT want to go in and guess which parent thought it was best to stay outside with him?  Hehehe...I used my 57 Chevies templates.

Scrap A Cat and Chat Event

And now, for some mega exciting news!  This Saturday, I'm hosting my first event!  It's digital, so you can join me where ever you are!  Sign up for the event, even if you're not sure you can make it and every few minutes I'll be giving out a few pieces of my newest kit, until you have them all.  Then we'll scrap and play with the goodies whilst we chat.  That's not all!

 Free Scrapbooking Kit

 Free scrapbooking kit

Once you have finished your page and you post it in our group or the event, you'll also receive one of these kitty inspired templates for free, too!

 Free Scrapbooking Kit

Thou shalt not be disturbed if you have no kitty pictures.  Look how I used the kit!  No kitties necessary.  We'd love to have you join us.  Even if you want to just sit along and see how it goes.  You don't even have to scrap.

 PuurFect Templates

These are the templates that I'll be choosing from for those who finish a page and post it.  The one on the bottom right is the template I used for my layout above and NO kitty.  Have I made myself clear, that you do NOT need to worry if you have no kitty pictures?  Hehehe...I'll also provide a few pictures of my fur babies if you want to use those.

I'm leaving you with this very important promotion.  Two of my all time favourite Scrappy Sisters, Throwing Some Scraps Around and Made By Keuntje, are putting their shops up for only $1 in hopes of raising money so that sweet Wyatt can get some very necessary surgery.  Their scrapbooking products are absolutely fabulous and I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.  What a great way to spend your pennies?!  She's included her PayPal, where you can make donations, too.

Thanks so much for checking out The Cherry.  You've certainly deserved today's freebie!  Hehehe...

This is no longer free. Make sure you sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date and so you don't miss any free stuff.
