TCOT's Weekly MenuPlanner #8

Welcome to this week's menu planner.

The Cherry On Top is all about making your life easier, greener, healthier and more fun, too.  I'm thrilled that you came by to check out this weeks menu.  Make sure ya do it again!

Monday:  home made clam chowder or soup/stew of your choosing

There are a lot of recipes out there and ya have to choose one that fits you and your family's taste.  I got one for ya that's a lot like the one I make.  I use Better Home and Gardens old book.  This one is from All Recipes.  I had no idea it was so easy and fast!  Grab some fresh baked bread and maybe some kind of yummy spread if the soup isn't enough.  Click on the picture to get to the recipe.

Tuesday:  meat, starch,veg

This is our flex day.  Heat up some left overs or bring home some Chinese if you're too, busy to cook.  If not, consider some delicious pork chops on the grill pan, with baked potatoes and broccoli.

Wednesday:  Greek Dish

This is my own dish.  Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil.  Add a good cup full of orzo and mix it all through your oil, garlic and onions.  Add your choice of meat.  I make it with lam or lamburger, but you can use pieces of beef, hamburger or italian sausage.  It will be nice with no meat, too. Ladle some stock over everything so the ingredients are covered.  (For the stock, I just boil water and chuck in a bouillon cube.)  Add a good can of tomatoes or a fresh one or two and stir through.  Make sure the dish never dries out by continually adding your stock a little at a time.  Add your salt and pepper.  You can also use spinach here as well.  A good fist full or two.  When the pasta is nearly to your liking, add a  handful of cubed Feta cheese and some fresh basil.  Voila!

If my directions are not thorough enough, hehehe....check out this one.  (Leave out the sugar and if you are not a fan of cinnamon, leave it out, too.  Though cinnamon is really, really good for you and combats diabetes!)

Thursday:  fish, starch, veg

Here's a baked recipe I found for you.  Serve it with rice or quinoa and some green beans or just a nice salad.  Click the pic!

Fun Food Friday:  Italian Crazy Bread

This recipe looks really good and you can put just about any cold cut in there ya want.  I like how you can specialise it to fit your family's desires.  Ya might need to make two.  I think it would be cool to have some warmed, dipping, tomato sauce.  Mmmmm.....  Actually, I wouldn't do the mayo thing, but replace it with the tomato sauce/spaghetti sauce.  The image is hooked up to the recipe.

Saturday:  fresh pasta recipe

Check out this baby!  It's chicken, bacon, artichoke and spinach with a creamy garlic sauce.  Mmmm...sounds heavenly.  Simply click on the image for the recipe.

Sunday:  shrimp avocado salad

This recipe looks so yummy and refreshing.  I'm sure you could use fish or chicken in place of the shrimp.  Maybe a touch of some parmesan to help fill the gut?

All of the images are hooked up with recipes.  If there is something here ya don't like then head back to some of my other weeks.  Share this link around with friends and family so that they too, can start planning and planning healthy!

Feel free to leave NICE comments, suggestions, recipes...I have considered making printables as well as grocery lists.  If this is something you would like, leave me a comment.

See you next Sunday!
