Fourth of July Scrapbooking, Layout Love and New Freebies

I hope you're having a wonderful day so far.  The sun is shining, my kids are chilling with me, the dog has finally stopped barking for the moment and everything is just so wonderful.  Enjoy the little things, today.

Our new templates are super fun and I got to team up with a designer friend of mine, LouCee Creations for this week's Fourth templates.  Take a look at what we came up with.  Ooh and aah...over our team's pages and get an eyeful of fabulous freebies from us and others around DigiLand.

I got a message from Lou asking if I had fun fourth templates for her.  I did not and that had to change.  I told her to shoot me an image of her kit so I can have the templates coordinate with it.  I was most impressed and just loved the sassy, witty twist.  Neither one of us currently lives in the States, but we certainly understand the magnetism of American patriotism.  We also thought we'd put a spin on our goodies for those not affiliated with the fourth.  Hence, the feline touch!

You know, I'm always trying to amp up my skills by trying new stuff all of the time.  I saw an image of a heart like this in Lou's kit and went with it.  I really liked Lou's colors and the soft, warm tones she's used.

Jenni always rocks her pages and Gaye from GS Creations is so awesome when it comes to sharing her designs in my templates.  Isn't it so fun when you customize shapes like these?!  I really, really love doing that.  Turn our templates into yours.

Many of my team members are not from The States and yet they could still find creative ways to use the products and have a lot of fun doing so!  Many countries have red, white and blue as their colors and there are a lot of elements that have nothing to do with the 4th of July.

Magical Scraps Galore

I just responded to a friend in my group on this very subject, theme.  If you look at a kit at face value, you're going to totally limit yourself!  Tip:  Look past themes.  Observe all of the details.  Check out elements are on their own.  Look more objectively at the papers, too.  Often papers are not themed at all.  We'll dive deeper so you can get more out of templates and kits by keeping an open mind.

Just So Scrappy

We'll take a look at the above template.  Tip:  Delete the stars and stripes and you've got a beautiful heart as your base to scrap over or up.  Delete the stars in the background OR use them for a sleepy or night time page.  Three totally different uses for this one template.

Kastagnette

This template can be looked at as a summer page.  Tip:  Maybe scrap pictures that you took in July and ditch the 4th?  Of course, you could delete both titles and use however you like with any theme or pictures at all.

Maybe you've always dreamed of going to America?  That would make an absolutely awesome page!  You cold also scrap a trip you took there.

Ooh La La

Peeps!  Let me tell you.  The Buffet at GingerScraps is absolutely insane this month.  My jaw dropped several times looking at what the ladies have designed.  I find it very interesting to see what everyone does with the same colors.  Sometimes I am not thrilled at all with a palette and then Aimee Harrison will design the most gorgeous goodies with that palette.  Hehehe...Go check out what Neia, Aimee's, Ooh La La's is way awesome as is Shepherd Studio's, Cherry Bomb.  Ha!  It looks totally rock'n!

This is definitely going to be a pack of templates that I'll go back to again.  Not only are they totally versatile, but you can easily switch them up for a completely different look.  Whoo hoo!  I love that!  Check out what my amazingly talented team have done with them and remember, only $2.  Everything in the Buffet is Cherry priced.  So treat yourself this weekend and get scrappy.  You deserve it!

Here's another 4th related page I designed last week using Bits N' Pieces, Sparkle and Shine kit.  No fourth needed.  Just some good old red, white and blue, colors, use of the basic elements and no theme necessary.  These are my Ship Shape templates.  Looked and it was still on sale!
