Adjusting Digital Elements Tutorial and a Freebie

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

The holidays are coming!  The holidays are coming!  Hehehe...  I've turned down the Christmas carols for the moment to bring you this super scrappy edition.  I'm showing off more gorgeous goodies from Key Lime Digi Design, providing you with a tutorial on changing the colour of your elements with PSE and in good ole Cherry fashion, handing out the free stuff.

Above, is Sandy's super-licious festive kit, Most Wonderful Time.  Key Lime Digi Design is Gingerscraps featured designer and of course, there is a party going on!!!  Hehehe...  Keep scrolling for the tutorial, find out about all of the cool happenings and freebies and grab our freebie, too.

As you can see, my layout isn't exactly like Sandy's word art you'll find in the kit. I loved her's so much, but it wasn't showing up on my green paper and the lovely snow flakes weren't in just the right place either.

No problemo!

How I fixed this is very simple.

First, click on the icon as pictured above and choose the circle.  Use the circle to go over the top flake or any part you want to ditch and hit the back space. Keep doing this until everything you want is deleted.  don't forget to use the ESC key in between.

Make sure you have the "layers" open as illustrated. Then use your color dropper or picker to get the colour you want the image. You can see, in the slides, I chose red.

Click on that half filled circle as indicated in the slide above and choose Gradient Map.

In the above image, you can see the dropper is high lighted.  It's on the left.

A window will pop open once you have chosen Gradient Map.  Click anywhere on that bar then another window will open.

Play around with the slides, left and right both the one on the bottom right and bottom left, until you have just the look you want.

That's it!  I just kind of figured this out myself.  There might be a better way, but this is just what I do.  You can also experiment with the other settings if you like as well.  (I always copy my image before playing so I don't lose it.)

Here are a few more layouts using Key Lime Digi Designs Kits in case you needed some more scrappy inspiration.
