Winter Birdie Freebie 2 A Sneak Peek of an Upcoming Free Dutch Mini and Scrapbook Inspiration

Welcome to The Cherry On Top,

There is so much to cover. This particular blog is a lot like myself, eclectic! Hehehe...I've got the second Winter Birdie freebie for ya, some fun winter pages to inspire you, a quick tip about getting your photo albums printed, an exciting announcement and finally a peak at an upcoming freebie that you will not want to miss.

I totally forgot about the second winter birdie design I promised. So me! I apologize. I did write in my notes that I totally need to organize an outline for this blog. There is so much to share.

I'm showing off my new birdie designs on my own mockups. The first one is not mine, but really neat.

As some of you may know, I lived briefly in Amsterdam and I currently live in Belgium, a neighboring country. We often visit our Dutch neighbors and I'll be documenting some of those trips. This way, if you want to check out The Netherlands, you'll get a nifty look or if you'd love to see it through photos and scrapbook pages, you'll be set. I do love seeing my friend's photos from places I've never been and perhaps never will visit. Feel free to share where you'd love to go in the comments and keep your eyes out for this fun free mini scrapbook kit.

I've decided to bail out of the Love For Layout Templates train and do my own thing. Now, don't be too disappointed. I'll be giving away a free template every month. I'll be back with a preview of all twelve templates, soon. Your first free template will be available very soon. Stay tuned!

Below, you see all of the templates from last year. If you need the links for the blog with the freebie, pop over to The Cherry On Top's Freebie board on Pinterest by clicking on the preview.

I promised some winter scrapbooking pages. I chose these since the bird is a winter bird. These are the newest set of templates in my shop, Kreative Design Studio. Last I looked, they were still 50% off.

winter templates

Here are some fun pages with the templates. The template shown in my page below is uncropped. That means you can turn the mini album into a real one. Won't that be fun?

You can simply add photos to the templates or replace our elements with the ones from your own digital stash.

This is the freebie from last week. I blogged about cleaning. Ugh! Hehehe... Maybe you can learn a thing or two about how to clean better, easier, cheaper and more environmentally friendly?

I'm never a fan of being a Negative Nancy. However, something happed to me the last time I had a book printed and I wanted to share the experience in hopes the same thing does not happen to you.

I wanted to send my mom and dad a scrapbook of me and the boys over the last few years since I've not seen my parents in nearly a decade. I chose to use SnapFish. I thought I used it before and had a good experience, but now I'm not so sure.

First, I'm sure I chose an 8x8 inch template because I always do square formats in either 8x8 or 12x12. Being the ding dong I am, I only noticed at the end that I was working in an 8x11 inch format. Duh! I obviously didn't want to design the book all over again. The cover was also not centered. I'll take the blame for not noticing that SnapFish presented a template that I didn't choose.

Without going in to too much detail, SnapFish sent two of the same albums to the same address. I could easily see that I cancelled my order, fixed the book and reordered. What I didn't know is that there was some kind of automatic payment!! They took the money out twice when I only went through the ordering process once. I didn't know businesses could do this. Of course, I couldn't reach out to any real person from either PayPal or SnapFish, initially. Eventually, the bot from SnapFish did link me up to a person. (I think. Though, the person didn't really act like one.) I had to wait in a line of over 100 others waiting. Thank goodness, I didn't have to pay for the "call".

Anyway, they did not give me my money back, but they did give me store credit which I have no intention of using. Also, the cover wasn't exactly how I designed it. The red and blue didn't show up on the cover. So be very careful of these companies that have automatic payments. I may be ditching PayPal as well. I can't even figure out how to address this issue.

printing your digital albums

To be fair, I couldn't really see the book well. It was over Skype. It seemed ok. I can also say that photos did upload quickly in their software and when you used an image, a little indication showed up in the gallery which was super handy. I added text to each page to form a poem.

If you've never printed an album, don't let this entry deter you. Digital albums are so much easier to handle. The elements don't fall off and they are a lot less bulky. I am a regular, traditional scrapper, too. It's just so much easier and cheaper to send digital pages to The States.

plan your wedding scrapbook

If you want to learn a lot more about digital scrapbooks, click on the lovely page above. It's full of so much information, tips and tricks for digital scrapbooking with a lot of wedding pages. I've also got a video showing that album off. You might just be surprised how beautiful they turn out!

This was supposed to be a short one! Hehehe...

Black Friday's Amazing Deals on Beautiful Digital Scrapbooking Goodies for Your Holiday Crafting and Memory Keeping

Let the sales begin, Crafters!

Y'all know The Cherry's main goal is to make scrapbooking and crafting fun. We also want to supply you with beautiful, quality products at a very affordable price. Everything is getting SO darn expensive. Isn't it great to get a break once in a while? We go to an old fashion butcher whose prices are less than half of what other butchers are charging and his prices are even better than the major grocery stores! His quality is also by far, amazing. We want to be like that, too.

GingerScraps and Design Bundles is 50% off throughout Monday. On top of that I've got so many new items in GingerScraps. It'll make your head spin, but trust me! You will be very inspired! There's a wing dinger of a Grab Bag Deal that I totally recommend. Ya might not even find a better deal out there.

Design Bundles is having a super sale AND awesome membership opportunities, too. It's tough for me to imagine a designing life without my Plus membership. I'm going to show you how I use some of my recent downloads from Plus for my designs. You won't need much encouragement to get your own membership. Especially, with the introduction of Plus Partners. It's ideal for crafters and those of you who love sublimation projects.

Let me show you THE best deal you'll find, this weekend. The Ultimate Grab Bag for Christmas! You get the Vintage Christmas kit, Country Christmas kit, Cookies for Santa collection (It's Huge!) and my newest set of holiday templates, Merry Christmas for just $9.99. Holy wow, right?! That's a savings of over 70% if I did my math correctly. Insert emoji with tongue sticking out. Hehehe...

Let me show off each pack in the grab bag and a few page examples.

It's so darn pretty!

Check out the Vintage Christmas printables!

I asked the ladies on the team if they wanted something special and one member asked for a train. What a fantastic idea. I can't believe I haven't done one already.

These pages are really, really fun! Don'cha think?!

I'll have each of these kits and this template pack at $3.99 in GingerScraps because the shop's on sale at 50% off. So you can pick and choose the kits you like and still save 50% and get them for $3.99. That's pretty cool, right? A great price for 3 brand new kits and 4 templates. I'm also putting three HUGE template packs in GingerScraps that were in Design Bundles, last year. Let me show ya each one. The templates are so cozy and festive!

Here are some pages to inspire you from the amazing team.

These are the templates new to GingerScraps.

Here's a Free With Purchase I have for you if you spend $2 or more. Design your own snowman or snow woman with the template kit.

I used a lot of items from Design Bundles for the designs you see here, today. I really love the basic black outline shapes they offer. They give you so much freedom to design. Add textures, bevels, glitter, resize them and change them up to fit your needs.

I thought those Santas were really cute! I took the png, cartoon image and used my magic wand to separate each and every part. Then I merged the like colors. What you might get is a little bit of missing space. Simply add a stroke, use your color picker and match your stroke exactly to the color you just outlined and it will fill the space. Then simplify that layer for a permanent fix. Easy, right?

Here are a few of the products I used for this week's designs.

I used a lot of the goodies here for items in the Vintage Christmas kit.

Here's a paper I designed using one of the elements and a lot of texture as well as a grunge edge and more.

I put my Design Bundle Shop, Kreative Design Studio on sale at 50% off in case you're looking for sublimation and commercial use designs. Everything in GingerScraps is Personal Use Only.

Oh, right! The $2 Flash Sales! There is SO much to remember!

I've got 3 items for each day. Here's the one for today.
