Scrapbooking Freebie Friday With Kim Cameron and The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I've got some really great, fun scrapbooking pages to show, today and of course a nice, new free scrapbooking goody for you as well.  Yay!

Let's sit back and get all kinds of inspired.

 Sipping On Sunshine

Ya know how much I love Kim Cameron Designs.  I'm working my way through ALL of her kits.  I love them so much.  They just epitomise my family and the colour palettes are always very tasteful.

When I saw Sipping On Sunshine, I knew I had to have it.  We're known to sip a bit and these colours are just delicious, are they not?!

I went through my photos and grabbed the most recent shots of us sipping or nearly sipping.  Hehehe...This is also a peek at a template coming very soon.  What absolute fun scrapping with great kits like this and such silly pictures of fun times.

 Black Sails

Kim has a new kit out, Black Sails.  Do you watch the show?  We do!  I'm a fan of Captain Black for sure.  Last year for Halloween, we dressed like pirates and dressed up our place, too.  It was an absolute blast.  If you'd like to see my blog dedicated to the event, click here.  I've got a lot of pictures.

The page above, was scrapped up with Throwing Some Scraps Around's Sea Kissed templates.  They are so awesome and the coordinating kit is a must have, too.

 Black Sails

There's a glimpse of part of my yard.  This page also uses another template from Sea Kissed.  Enlarge your ellies, slap in a huge photo and you've scrapped!
Here's a coupon code you can use on Jodi's newest collection, You're My Lil' Girl. It is so stunning.

Freebie Friday, A Quick Page With Kim Cameron Designs

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's Freebie Friday.

I just love Kim Cameron Designs and she is back in the spot light.  I've got some layout loving, a nifty freebie and a super sale announcement.  So keep reading and enjoy!

I've written several books for my boys.  One of them was about a boy who's afraid to leave his bed to go pee because of the monsters.  I thought this kit will be perfect for my book.  If I can only find it!  Hehehe...

This layout is the inspiration for your freebie, today.  I added the tiny cluster to the centre so my layout would be unique and of course, you can do the same with your quick pages.

Here are some more monster related kits and goodies from Kim.

She is having a mega amazing sale in her shop at Daisies and Dimples.  Last time I was shopping there, she had Commercial Use for $1 and other goodies for $1 as well as 40% off.

April's Coordinating Digital Freebies From The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Freebies are our specialty and we've got some more coordinating freebies from our April goodies.  If you haven't grabbed those, you can find them here.  Keep reading to find our most recent freebies and see what we've done with them.

Every month we feature planner inserts and offer several matching goodies in the form of stickers, frame clusters, frickies, quick pages and even lovely printable hybrid projects.

Take a look at some of those products that are ready for April.

This quick page will be ready for download next week, but I wanted to show it off so you come back. Hehehe...

Below, is a frame cluster.  You may want to grab it because it will make an awesome addition to our stacked papers for April that you can find on our Facebook page. (For the moment we are having technical difficulties with the APPS on our FB Page.)

All these photos are from my family's most recent vacation.  Every year our family, my mo and pa-la and sister, bro-la and their two kids, all head off on a long weekend.

My oldest still loves to cuddle despite the fact he's nearly as big as his cousins.

I used the stacked papers and our cluster frame to make this layout in minutes.  We love making scrapping easy for you.  We know not everyone dedicates the time to scrapping like we do and that's why we offer time saving freebies.  It's also nice working on projects that you know you can finish quickly.

Here's another layout of the boys Easter morning with their new toys.  It's the same stacked papers with a different cluster.  If you use our stickers from last week, you can add them to your projects.

Grab the free cluster frame, right here by right clicking and saving the download.

Do the same for this quick page.  Right click and save to your downloads.

Since our APPS are not working on FB, you can get the stackers right here.  Just right click and download.

How easy is that?  At The Cherry On Top, we make scrapbooking that can be done in a snap.

Remember, all of our freebies are for Personal Use Only.  You may not resell them or claim them as your own.

Here's a look at last week's freebies:

Happy Me, Free Quick Page

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We are back with more fabulous freebies and goodies from MagsGraphic Designs.  Scroll on down for inspiration, tips and your free quick page using Happy Me from MagsGraphic Designs.

Such a warm soft palette.  It'd be great to scrap up pictures with a masculine subject, too.  A touch of nature and boy, do I love those squares!  I layered the basic square element with coordinating papers from the kit.  Then I copied the background of my layers in PSE11 and clipped in all of the other coordinating papers from the kit.  Tip: It goes so much faster when you design your layout like a template and clip in your photos and papers.  Otherwise, you're stuck cropping and recropping until you get the perfect fit.

When you get a cool template with all of those squares, there's so much you can do with it.  Tip:  You can put a picture in each square, in a couple of squares or don't use any pictures in them, like I did here.  Show off all of those fabulous papers if you have them.  Use the squared template as a background or make it a feature.  Wouldn't it be awesome on a card?  Shrink it up, enlarge it, layer it up, add bling or use each square for progressional years photos of your kids and or loved ones.  My boys love to see this kind of progression.

Here's a look at the kit.  It's all linked up to Maggie's store.  You may want to check out her blog, too. She's got plenty of freebies from other kits there as well as more great inspiration from the Creative Team.  There's a gallery page where we chat, get exclusive freebies, share our layouts and have a laugh.  Join us there!

 Happy Me

The quick page is all set to download in a png format.  Simply right click and save to your downloads.  As always, our freebies are for PERSONAL USE ONLY and are not to be resold or claimed as your own.

Consider Following us, so you don't miss out on all of this free stuff.  Like us on Facebook, where we post freebies every single day and on Pinterest, too!

Here's a tutorial on how I did the word art for this layout.  You can see, it's just a couple of steps.  I've been at this digital scrapping for a few years and how a totally, "Duh" moment, again.  I typed up my word in my software program, PSE and then clipped in Maggie's papers for the perfect match.  I used it as a template.  I had no idea I could even do that.  Hehehe...

Free February Quick Page

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Typically, we do hybrids on Saturday and actually, I'm sitting on several of them, but for reasons beyond my control, I have to put them off for awhile.  I did have a hybrid project for you this week because I just couldn't wait until Saturday to give it to you.  Hehehe...  It's posted here, further in the blog.

If you follow us, you'll know that we started giving planner freebies last year and we're continuing on with the new year.  Find January's goodies by clicking here.  Find the first part of Febrary's goodies here and keep scrolling to grab some more.

I always like to show off projects using both digital and traditional skills.  I've been traditionally scrapping for nearly two decades.  It's my first love when it comes to crafting.  I'm really starting to get well into hybrid now, too.

So what is this hybrid scrapping/crafting? Well, it isn't always about photos which makes it a bit more appealing to more creative folk.  It's a combination of computer designing, printing and crafting up what you designed digitally.

Here's a look at a digital design.  I used with our free Cute Cards to make this Project Life style layout.

Here are the cards I used.  I simply cropped the cards I wanted and restored the original when I was finished with all four cards.

Of course, you can use these cards for many things.  Print them out on thicker paper and use them as Valentines.  Use them as a tags or put them in your planner for February just because they are fun to look at.  I'm in the middle of a hybrid project, right now, where I'm using them to create a mini album for my boys for Valentine's Day.  I'm also using them as tags and obviously, used them digitally in my layout.

Here's another of our freebies.  This is strictly hybrid.  You download, print, cut and glue and you're project is ready in mere minutes.  Click here for the download and tutorial.

Now, you have an idea what hybrid is.  I'll be back to show off the albums I made.  We've still got plenty of time until February 14th, right?

In the mean time, how about a free quick page?  Download this page, plug in your favourite photos and turn it into your wall paper, send it to friends or family via e-mail or print it out and plop it in an album.  It doesn't have to be 12x12.  You can always scale it down to an 8x8, 6x6 or 4x4, perfectly.  I do that all of the time because I can't print out at 12x12 and I often prefer smaller albums.

Right click and download.  We're able to display png versions of our images, now.  Yay!

Our freebies are for Personal Use ONLY. Do not resell them or claim them as your own.  Give us a shout if you do download our goodies by commenting, sharing our links, +ing, Pinning...

Thanks for stopping by The Cherry!

How To Turn A Layout Into A Quick Page In PSE

Welcome to another helpful edition of The Cherry On Top.

I often help out the designers I work with by turning my layouts into quick pages and they sell them or offer them as freebies.  Just what it a quick page?  It's a layout that's 99% ready to print.  You just have to insert photos.  Ya gotta love that.

I've got a nifty layout all ready for the Digital Scrapbooking Studio's monthly challenge, Less Is More.   This challenge is where a generous designer creates a mini kit.  Typically, consisting of a half a dozen elements and a few papers.  You must design something like a layout using each and every piece in the mini kit, at least once.

October's challenge is just lovely as usual and this was the layout I designed.

Aren't you just loving those flower frames?  This layout jumped right out at me, the minute I saw the elements.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I wish it were always like that.

Now, how do you turn this into a quick page?  All you need to do is delete all of the layers in the spot you want your photograph(s) and ditch the background so that it is invisible.

It's just a couple of steps.  Let us show you how it's done in Photoshop Elements.

Choose the elliptical tool.  Then go to the bottom in the tool bar and look for the shape you need.  A square and circle are your two options.

You may have to play a bit before you get the marching ants right where they need be.  Use the esc key if it isn't just where you want it and start over.

Go to your layers and and click on the ones that need cutting by using the back space button on your keyboard.  You can see in this image, all of the layers missing sections that were cropped out.

The last step is to click on your background in the layers bar and click on the eyeball.  Your background will disappear and your quick page is ready.

Wasn't that just too, easy?!

Here's a look at the lovely goodies I used to make the quick page.  It's Studio4 Design works, Shedding Seasons.  You can get this mini for free, by liking on the image and downloading it from the forum at the Studio.
