Ideas For Multiple Photo Layouts From The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

A member from a fan club I'm in commented how difficult it can sometimes be to come up with ideas for multiple photo layouts.  I couldn't agree more and thought right away, that I'd come up with a helpful blog.  If you would also like to be a member of that fan club.  You can request to join here:  (It is from A-Manda Creation.)

Why multiple photo layouts?

One, photo layouts are great for featuring a particular photo.  When you really want that photo to stand out and be on it's own.

For both traditional and digital scrappers, multiple photo layouts are great for saving pages.  If you eventually want to print out your book, then you'll save a lot of cash by using multiple photo layouts. When paper scrapping in a traditional scrapbook, you only get a couple of pages and if you insert too many extra pages, your book isn't very balanced and it's difficult to close, if you can close it at all.  Yes, I'm guilty of this, too.

Kit from Paty Greif Digital Designer.

You may only have a couple of pictures of a particular shoot and perhaps the quality of pictures or picture isn't all that great.  So you don't want too much focus on it.  Then multiple photo layouts would be great here.

Keeping balance is probably the most difficult task.  Next, being cropping and sizing multiple photos to fit just right on your page.  Of course, a double paged layout would be a great escape, too.  When you are traditionally scrapping, you need to get that crop right the first time.

Consider a template with multi photo options like the one above from Lissy Kay Designs.

I wanted to show off as many pictures as possible of the stunning views from the Penon in Spain.  Of course, I could never leave off embellishing.  So, I used a couple of smaller titles in the form of word art.

Kit from Amanda Creation

One more huge shot with that awesome view and some smaller photos showing the treacherous journey.

Let's take a look at some more examples of multiple photo layouts.  The Cherry On Top on Pinterest has many more examples you can check out as well.  I've Pinned examples, templates and even FREE templates with multiple photo usage.

Frame up your favourite photos of family.  Consider the balance in this layout.  The clusters and word art help keep the symmetry.

Kit from the Master Scrapper Challenge

Then you have an insane amount of photos like this digital scrap, which was a real blast to make and we received a lot of nice comments, too.  Not only did we have to use a ton of pictures, but we also had to do a lot of journaling with this Master Scrapper Challenge. Shoo!  It really took a lot of tweaking to get it just right.

Here are some traditional scrap examples with extreme photos.

Go squares or circles.  I found the circles were much more forgiving and more flexible.  That layout above took forever.

And now for something really awesome. I'm leaving you with some free multi photo templates that are offered around DigiLand for the moment. They are certain to inspire.

Happy scrapping!

Free Christmas Photo Booth Props From The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I'm back with more fun, free photo booth props.  This time, keeping the season in mind.  I nabbed a couple of these goodies from and changed them up a bit with Photo Shop Styles from Mommyish.  The top hat is a template from Key Lime Digi Design that you can have a lot of fun with.  I kept it simple, but you can go all out.

Download, print on rigid paper/card stock, cut, tape or glue dot to some thin dowels, sticks, balloon stems...Then find some fun models and take your shots.

Everything on this blog is for personal use only.  You may only share the links.

I'd love to see some pictures using these.  I'm waiting until my kids are in decent clothes.  Hehehe...

If you don't have a Facebook account and would still really like these, leave me a comment and I'll hook you up with a link.  As with anything, as long as I still have it available.

Thank you for checking out The Cherry.

7 Days of Awesome Sandwiches

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

I'm diving into sandwiches today.  Belgians eat a lot of sandwiches.  For the most part, lousy sandwiches. Despite the fantastic butcher shops full of delicious meats and salads.  It boggles the mind.  The Cherry is here to remedy that and indulge our audience with the most delectable samiches on the planet.  If you know of a better one, then hit us up with the link, Man!

Mexican Chorizo, Garlic Shrimp Burger:

Warning!  THIS is a serious sandwich and quite possibly, the most beautiful food blog I have ever seen.  This sandwich is edible art and it won't be made in less than 10 minutes, but it will be worth the work.  Consider this recipe as the ultimate gift for your favourite sandwich lover.  It will be an excellent demonstration of your love for that particular recipient.  Give me a call, when it's ready!  You're drooling...

Brie, Prosciutto, Arugula Caramelized Onion Sandwiches

Wow!  Another gorgeous blog with delicious eats.  That is one beautiful sandwich.

Baked Egg Boats:

This recipe is a lot easier and with everyday ingredients that you may already have at home.  Keep your bread in mind.  Make sure it's fresh if your looking for the healthiest manner to eat bread.

Roasted Garlic Steak Sandwich:

Here's another fabulous sandwich recipe.  There are some store bought sauces which will save you time and there is a marinade, too.  Keep that in mind if time is not on your side.

Big Kahuna Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich:

Another awesome samich recipe.  This one has a marinade so keep that in mind if your short on time.  It also suggest a lot of sugar for the  marinade.  The pineapple should add a sufficient and surely healthy does of natural sugar.

Shrimp Po'Boy

If you ain't never had'a Po' Boy than, Honey!  Make this your first.  This recipe will whip right up.  Ya just need a little bit of time to make the sauce, but it's very easy.  Mmmm.... mmmmm....  Shrimp can be a bit pricey.  I buy frozen shrimp that I have to peel to save money.  I cut the bag open, then fill it with hot water from the tap and drain when the shrimp is thawed and peel.  It doesn't take long for the shrimp to thaw.  But he time you prepare the sauce, they will be ready.

Now, get a hold of yourself.  The next one is my own recipe and it's also whipped up in a snap.  You could cook two chicken breasts or grill them and add the wing sauce. I used left over chicken and shredded it, but you could always cook two chicken breasts in the slow cooker along with your favourite hot wings sauce.  Our's is Texas Pete.  Another alternative is to melt butter and add hot sauce until you get just the right flavour .

I made my own blue cheese dressing because there ain't none better, it's really easy, healthier and made to your taste.  You can see my sauce is nice and thick and I really heaped it on.

I toasted the wheat bread.  Half of the family prefers white and the smarter half prefers brown.  hehehe...

I definitely need to brush up on my photography skills.

Now, you're set with an awesome assemblage of fabulous sandwiches.  Some easy and some a bit labor intensive.  You choose the one best for you and your family.
