Sew Pretty Digital Scrapbooking Templates and a Fantastic Free Frickie

Welcome to The Cherry on Top's, Freebie Friday!

We are so thrilled you are here.  I've got a nifty new free Frickie for you, really beautiful page inspiration and some fabulous new scrapbooking templates that I'm sure you are going to just love.

 Sew pretty

These templates took me so long to design which means we did the hard work for you.  I could not have done it without the help of Dana from Made By Keuntje.  I used some templates she specifically designed for me for this template idea I had.  Keep reading to find more awesome, free goodies from Made By Keuntje.

 Sew Pretty

The first two pages were designed by yours truly.  I used that fabulous collection, By Your Side from Kristin Cronin Barrows.  It is so lovely and I finally made the time to use it.  I recently was perusing through my pictures and found this series of older pictures of me and the boys for my oldest's communion party.  JJ sure seemed in good form and Liam always is.  Hehehe...

I'll admit, I did attempt to clip in papers to my flowers, but I just wasn't loving it.  I would recommend using a tiny design paper for them or solid paper to clip in.  Of course effects will look awesome, too.  Use your paint tool to color the flower you want, then add an effect or clip in a solid paper and add the effect to that.  Play around and see what you like.  You can also use these flower templates on other pages as long as it is for your own personal use.

Jarmila scrapped up one of my favourite birds.  I love birds and these guys are at my feeders everyday.  Both in Belgium and in Germany.  They stick around through the winter and they make one heck of a mess rooting through the seeds for the sunflower variety.  The pigeons, black birds and doves are grateful for that.

 Sew Pretty

Ngoc always scraps her little guy and she's not afraid to use pink and flowers either.  Only recently have my boys asked me not to use pink.  Flowers are ok.  Hehehe...

 Sew Pretty

Jodi from Throwing Some Scraps Around has scrapped a beautiful page with a sleeping beauty.  She used her and Dana's collection, You're My Little Boy.  She also kept the flowers because she loved the stitching.  Yay!  It gives the flower a whole other level of awesome.  Look at those fantastic flowers.  They and the stars are floating right off of the page!

Sew Pretty

Rochelle replaced the flowers and used gorgeous goodies from Aimee Harrison.

 Sew Pretty

Charity scrapped a fantastic page.  I love the picture, too.  Wouldn't we all just love a relaxing trip to the beach?  Especially, if you're looking at a winter wonderland.

 Sew Pretty

Rachelle scrapped a seriously fabulous page and she changed the direction of the template which is a great way to recycle templates you've already worked with or customize them to fit your needs and of course, more loveliness from Aimee Harrison.

 Sew Pretty

Hilary also used flowers and foliage from the scrap kit of her choice which was a real beauty from Flergs.  His attire and those gears look perfect together.

I've got a new freebie for you.  I coined this kind of freebie a Frickie.  You can use it as a frame or a quick page.  Just add your pictures and a paper in the background and you've scrapped.  Remember, our freebies are for personal use only.

 Sumptuous Freebie

This is what I did with it.  You can scrap so quickly with freebies like this.  I added just a very few elements from the Sumptuous kit and my pictures and I was finished in less than 20 minutes.

 Sumptuous Digital Scrapbooking Kit

If you are a newsletter subscriber, you can expect this lovely freebie in next week's newsletter.  It's also a peek at the newest One Word Wonder kit, Ethereal.  I'll tell ya now and I'll remind you again in the newsletter.  There is one element in this free sample that will NOT be in the kit in the shop.  It's a bonus gift for our loyal followers and it is really awesome.  You can just see it on the preview.  It's a grungy, artistic flavored edge peppered with paint and ethereal butterflies.  See it?  It looks gorgeous on the papers from the kit.

Freebie Friday with Aimee Harrison and Heartstrings Scrap Art

Welcome to Freebie Friday with The Cherry On Top.

I've got Aimee Harrison and Heartstrings Scrap Art back in the spot light.  Keep reading to see some fabulous inspiration, beautiful collections and great templates from two of your favourite designers, plus a free frickie from The Cherry.

 Give It Your All

Our frickies are pretty popular.  What is a frickie, you ask?  It's a quick page or a frame freebie, a frickie.  Hehehe...

You can enlarge the frickie and insert your favourite photo, like I did above or you can use it as a frame and use the coordinating elements and goodies from Aimee's collection and make it your very own design, like I did in the next layout.

All of those lovely layers, might be a bit too much in your face for some, making this other layout a bit more soft and gentle on the eyes.

 Give It Your All

This image is saved as a png, so the background will be invisible.  Right click to download and get scrappy.

Fully Anchored in another lovely collection from Aimee Harrison Designs.  I scrapped it up using Heartstrings Scrap Art fabulous, new templates.  I switched it up just slightly for a customised look.

Grouping all of my photos in the centre gives them the spotlight in this layout.  To get a more cohesive look with my squares, I selected a few, scattered layers, merged them, then inserted one paper so that it showed up in a several boxes.  Often, when there are too many, different papers in a layout like this, it can look too busy.  Try the above technique and see what you think.

Here is a look at the collection.  Click on the preview to see more.

Freebie Friday, A Frickie And More

Welcome to Freebie Friday with The Cherry On Top.

Throwing Some Scraps Around has a fantastic kit, I know you are going to love.  Down In A Hollow has a touch of whimsy and a gorgeous colour palette.  Check out inspiration, get the frickie, see what you can do with it, take a look at the kit and see what freebie Jodi has on her blog.

I often try to get some similar colours in my photos and layout.  I immediately thought of JJ and his orange shirt. Hehehe..This series of photos is so cute.  I only ever scrapped one of them before, this time I've got them all.

Frickies are so much fun and very versatile.  I've got several free ones throughout the blog.  You can always visit our Freebie board on Pinterest to see all of them.

You can blow up your frickie and add a photo as your background like above or you can shrink it up, layer it up and use it as a cluster frame.  Keep scrolling to see what I mean.

See!  Shrink it up, add some lovely layers in various sizes and widths.  Maybe add a tag and that's it.  You can scrap in mere minutes.

This layout was inspired by Brenian Designs templates.  Click here to see Bren's shop.

This is what the kit looks like.  Click on the image to see Jodi's shop.  She prices her kits to sell!

Throw Back Thursday With THREE Freebies

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's Throw Back Thursday.

How's that for a throw back photo?  Ha!  I'm the little one with my mom and two older brothers on our one and only family vacation.  I can't say I remember much, but I've got a stuffed animal AND a box of Cracker Jacks, so it must have been good!  Hehehe....

Today, I'm bringing back Surf, Sand and The 4th from the Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  It was an enormous store wide collection from over a dozen designers and some of the collection is still available.  I've made two frame frickies available again and as a super special treat, I'm even bringing back the template from that blog and you can get the link in this blog for it.  Keep scrolling to get the three freebies.

This was LouCee Creations portion of the collection.  What a super embodiment of the beach.

 free frickie

Here's another example of a frickie and it is quite a doozy! A frickie is a quick page and or a frame, depending on how you use it and if it comes from The Cherry, it's free. Hence, a frickie.  Hehehe...

I really love the way it turned out and that you can use more than one photo if you like.  You could always place a lovely paper and elements in the two smaller squares if you have no photos for them.  PattyB Scraps did such a smashing job on this collection.

Ah!  Here is A-Manda Creation's portion of Surf, Sand and The 4th.  Isn't it just stunning?  This is also a look at the free template that we've made live again for a limited time.  Keep reading to get the link for it.

I'd love for you to become a member of our group.  I'll be posting challenges, sketches, inspiration, tutorials, exclusive group freebies as well as games, links for more freebies and YOU can post your lovely layouts and other crafty projects there, too!

On The Ice Freebie And Then Some

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

We're get'n all scrappy up in here!  Today, we've got Magsgraphics back in the spot light.  She's got a fabulous flurry-ous, new kit out, On The Ice.  There's also a free frame you can get over at Scraps N' Pieces, some super chilly inspiration and..dun..dun..daah...a freebie from us, of course.

Let's jump right in!

My first layout I made with On The Ice was this one.  Ah...more photos from when I lived in Charlotte and it was cold enough to snow.  Hehehe...I know Maggie loved this layout and had me turn it into a quick page for her.  I'm not sure what her plans are for it, but when I know, I'll let you know.  Who knows, it may come in the form of a freebie.

 snp

This is just a sample of On The Ice.  It's an entire collection.  Each piece is only $1 for a limited time.  So, zip over to S N' P and snatch them up!

 snp

Think outside of the theme.  I've been iceskating one time in my entire life and hated it.  Hehehe...There is so much to this collection that it's a great fit for wintery fun as well as any kind of everyday photos.  A super versatile colour palette for young, old, male or female and typical elements that you could use for anything.

Here's a look at Maggie's free frame from the Recipe Challenge over at Scraps N' Pieces.  I used one of Maggie's papers from the Ice Skating kit with this lovely wood look.  Back up some squares with coordinating papers or use photos in all of them.  The penguin is actually a journal card fit in there.

 snp forum

Layer up your clusters and don't forget those shadows for a sweet dimensional effect.  Each layer, as you go up, will have a slightly larger shadow you choose how much darker.  It often depends on the depth you want to create and even the colour that it's on top of.

I whipped up this fun frickie/cluster frame.  I call it a frickie because it could be used as a quick page or a frame.  Hehehe...

Here is the frickie used as a quick page.

This is the frickie used as a cluster frame.  Layer up your favourite backgrounds, don't forget those shadows and your finished.

Awe, my little snow bunny.  This is the most snow I've ever seen in Belgium in the 12 years I live here.  The kids loved it and we could finally build a decent a snowman.

Make sure you got it all straight.  Get Magsgraphics free frame in the forum at Scraps N' Pieces, play along in the challenge, get the parts of the collection that you love the most, since they are only $1, now, download our free frickie and get scrappy. You deserve it!

Our goodies are always for PERSONAL USE ONLY.  Do not claim them as your own or resell them, please.  Leave us some loving if you download our goods.  It's a great way to say thank you.

You may also want to hit up Maggie's blog.  She's usually got free stuff there.

Happy scrapping!

Free Winter Frickie From The Cherry On Top

Welcome to The Cherry On Top's, Friday Freebie!

I've gathered some festive Commercial Use from DigiLand's top designers and created this fun, frickie for you.  Use it for your Facebook profile picture.  That would be so cool!  Or you could check out some other different ways to use a frickie.

Most of these goodies are from Feli Designs that you can find at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio.

I doubled it up, added the same picture twice and placed a bunch more embellishments under and over each frame.

Add a background and make your own poster.  Use it as a title or in-between page for a scrap album or frame it up and place it on the mantle.

You could place several of these on one sheet of card stock, through the printer and use them as tags for gifts, too.

The quickest way to scrap would be to place a fun, festive photo as your background and you're finished.

Frickies are really versatile.  If you'd like to see more frickies and what we do with them, check out these other posts.
