Totally Awesome Styled, Digital Scrapbooking Templates and a Heart Made Scrapbook Freebie

Welcome to The Cherry On Top.

Things are just a bit switched up this week.  I've bumped the Friday blog to Saturday which usually is a hybrid day so I'll provide a cute hybrid from someone else just to keep a bit of consistency.  Otherwise, the blog is the same.  It's full of fabulous page inspiration, new products from around DigiLand, a new designer's in town and a freebie from this new designer, too.

Let's sink our teeth right in there and take a look at this week's new templates.  I've given them an artistic flair and the pages from my awesome Creative Team are really fabulous.

I always post my pages first, but I'll tell ya, the other ladies did a much better job with their pages.  I had fun playing with the bright on black which I love.  I ditched the slim, painted frames in the background and I increased the size of the splatter in the middle as well.  I also had to make a few small adjustments to the matting and the photos to fit my images. better.

I used Proud As a Peacock from JoCee Designs.  Pretty fun colors!

Check out what my team have done and let us know in the comments, which one ya like best!

Heart Made Scrapbook is new in town as a designer, but you might know Ngoc as a creative team layout artist.  She's been with The Cherry and several other noted designers for years.  Her kits are bright, fun and full of flavor.

I love the glittery touches.  I used our On A Whim templates and switched up the paper on the frame vertically to get that look on both frames.

I'm Torn templates are a regular go to.  They just go with everything!  Add them to your stash, today.

I mention this all of the time. Tip:  If you are ever struggling with a background paper, go with our artistic elements from our templates.  I totally recommend making a folder full of our paint splatters, edges, brushes, etc so you can use them over and over in your Personal Use projects.

For this page, I used all of the outside elements from our Awesome Edges templates and ditched the rest.  This pack of templates would be perfect to start that folder.

Another element you might want to keep on standby is texture.  Tip: You can use styles to add texture to your papers and other elements on your pages.  I have some png texture from all kinds of design shops that I add to my pages.  Texture is so important.  It is one small detail that can add a lot of impact.

Again, I've added a lot of paint to my background by using elements from my templates.  As you can see from the preview below, this is paint from my stash.  It helped give my page balance.

I played with a couple of layers of papers and their opacity to get this more muted background and amped up the edge, big time, adding a couple of embellishments through out and repeatedly for cohesion and color balance.

I've turned my page in to a Quick Page for you!  Keep reading to find out about another freebie from Heart Made Scrapbook.
