Last week, I gave several tips on how to get started eating properly.  Do you even know what a proper diet is?  I thought I knew, but boy was I wrong.  Pop back over to the last week's blog to learn more.

Today, I want to tell you a few things that you absolutely need to stay away from and learn or train yourself to cut back from them until they are out or even nearly out of your diet.  If you are already very ill, then do your best to get rid of them faster.  I always recommend a slow start and don't feel bad if you eat some of them sometimes.

My thought is, if you always eat the things on this list.  Even just a little tiny bit everyday, your body never has a chance to detox and you won't get better.  There are so many illnesses out there and I'll tell ya, most of them are there because we are not eating right.

Here's the list of the things you need to exclude from your eating regiment.

One of the worst things you can eat is sugar and unfortunately it's in nearly everything which is why it's tough to not be sick.  Many of the illness ending with "itis" are inflammatory illnesses and a contributing factor to it is sugar.  Imagine you get a little cut.  The cut gets a touch red and swollen.  Well that's what is happening inside of your body.  This inflammation and swelling which leads to conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, arthritis, lupus...

Make sure you are using the correct oils when cooking  The ones you need to start using, like yesterday are Virgin Olive oil, coconut oil, peanut oil, avocado oil and be stingy and buy the good stuff.  Even butter is still an ok option if used sparingly.  Other oils are highly over processed and wreak havoc on our bodies.  Especially, when they are heated.  Yikes!  Did ya know margarine is just a few ingredients away from plastic?!  Stay far away!

The next thing you need to stay away from or cut way back on is processed meats.  They have all been treated and are often very high in sodium as well.  Things like deli meats, hot dogs, sausage, jerky, bacon, canned meats...If you have a hot dog or a hoagie once a week, it's ok.  Just make sure you are cutting way back and maybe even out.

The last thing you should cut out of your routine eating regiment are refined carbs.  Now, this one is a really tough one for people.  I've cut way back and make it a point to go several days without eating them.  Things like white bread, pasta, rice and other refined versions.  They too, if eaten daily can attribute to the above conditions mentioned and even other ailments.

What I started doing is serving up a good, organic steak with a fresh salad and home made dressing follow the above guidelines.  Usually olive oil and apple cider vinegar.  There are more and more alternatives out there that are actually beneficial for our health.  Oats, quinoa, seeds, beans and pasta made from these are a much healthier alternative.  Just skip your starchy carbs in your meals a few times a week.

Just so ya know, even depression and anxiety can be worse if we are not eating correctly.

I'm not a doctor, but I am on the road to find the best way to eat to stay healthy, live a long life and teach my children how to do the same.  My boys have Autism and my hubs has a heart condition so our diet is essential.  They have rid their bodies of several symptoms through a good eating regime.  Eating fresh can save your life and improve it!  (Most of the information given here is from doctors.)

You are going to need this recipe card if you don't have your own.  No worries, it is free from last week's blog.  It's for the last challenge in the group and our What's Cook'n kit.

Let me tell you, there is no better way to eat healthy, save money and waste less, than having a well planned menu AND grocery list.  It's a total game changer.  I blogged extensively about it, here.  Read more, it is totally worth the read.  I've week's worth of menu's all planned for you if you are interested.  Check out Weekly Menu Planner on Pinterest.  These were made before I read all about the damage that starchy carbohydrates can cause, so mix up the menu's with some meatless meals and starch free ones.  I've got a Vegan board, a Food and Dessert Board as well as Lunch For the Lil' Ones, but it's good for the big ones, too!

Well, all righty then!  You're all caught up to speed.  I'm thrilled you stopped by.  I hope you'll join us in our group and consider signing up for our newsletter.  I only send out weekly newsletters and I often give exclusive freebies.  If you've any questions bout the designs used from this blog, ask away in our group.
